Someone on Reddit compared the cyberpunk biker gang to Biff’s hoverboard gang in BTTF2 and that’s amazingly spot on.
Hoverboards don’t work on water!
Unless you got POWER.
We said the same exact thing here!

Really took us out of the moment.

I should probably quit beating this drum but Boba Fett episode 3 suffers from the same problem. Why do we care? At the end of the Mando pilot we knew this series was part of a larger story. It wasn't just that there was the mystery of who is the Child, it was that it tied into the bigger universe. This show is just Boba Fett wanting to be the big boss man.
At least the introduction of the Pykes ties into another film but it still doesn't feel important. I wonder if this leads to Maul appearing. Or wait was he with Crimson Dawn? I don't remember Solo that much.
Also, this probably isn't a spoiler but I'll spoiler it anyway...
The cyber punk biker gang was hilariously bad. Prequel levels bad.
It won't be Maul unless he is back from the dead for the 2nd time. He was killed by Obi Wan in a duel in Rebels prior to the fall of the Empire. I read a rumor that it might be Emilia Clarke as the leader of Crimson Dawn, Qi'ra.

Guy on an Easter egg video said the guy wrecking his speeder and it getting filled with fruit was very similar to Biff’s car wrecking and getting filled with… you know. I don’t know if these tropes are lazy writing or paying a type of homage to something the director enjoyed. Either way, it was poorly executed.

The speeder had a 50s looking front end, too.

...and I'll be there on 2/18 or so.

Really looking forward to it - I'll be in between jobs, and can actually relax and enjoy myself. This trip was originally planned for March 2020, and postponed twice.

Same source I saw post this theory just pondered the notion that the Big Bad is actually...
Palpatine
Which would be horrifically tragic.

Where does this fall in the timeline? Post-ROTJ Pre-TFA?
Palpatine makes sense if they want to try to retroactively make the Rise of Skywalker nonsense work.

It's the same timeline as Mando, so something like 5 or 6 years after Endor.

This show sucks, you guys. It's taken a mysterious, bad ass bounty hunter and turned him into a slow moving, slightly corrupt politician. Of all of the show's sins (and there are many), the worst may be that it's simply boring. I know when I first saw Boba in Empire and Jedi my first thought was I'd love to see him in a long dialogue heavy scene next to a fire. Oh and remove his helmet, armor, blasters, flame thrower, and definitely his rocket pack and replace those with a big stick, please.
