I knew he played for the Army, had no idea he played in the Alabama State League. This will make for some fun research later.

I was talking with a friend of mine when he picked up OOTP baseball and played the historical mode...and I'm looking back and they have so much in the way of stats ("they" being "baseball") going back to like 33 B.C. or whenever baseball started...like, who started these dopey leagues after the Civil War had ended and went, "wait, wait, wait...we're gonna write down who was caught stealing because 200 years from now, someone is gonna wanna know this I bet..."
Hockey didn't track shots until 1967...save pct. wasn't a thing until 1983...but I can look up how many times Christy Mathewson scratched his balls per IP against left-handed batters...

A lot easier to keep track of stats when there's only a grand total of 3 minutes of action in a 3 hour game.

TIL about the "Zone Rouge" in France where they literally fenced off a massive amount of France and Belgium back in 1919 that still remains a no go zone due to 14 million unexploded shells and general World War One material still littered around.

I still remember my 50-something year old English teacher getting braces.

I have a permanent retainer on my bottom teeth. I hate it.

I assumed once you reached your 20s the position of the teeth was pretty much set. It's interesting to me.

TBH, it's one of those things that has never really bothered me, and I've never really thought about getting it removed. I've had it since I was 17. I floss and what not, but I am a little afraid as to what it looks like under there after so many years

There is also a high level of "I don't care how crooked my teeth are" once you get married and or/older.

Update: Called my dentist, they had me in within two hours, and I spent about 15 minutes there tops so they could recement it.
And I am married and getting older, and I most certainly care about what my teeth look like

I had a root canal on one of my front teeth after a hockey injury. If it ever fails, I think I’m going to rock the toothless grin awhile.

There is no big parking lot in front of the Hilman Library on Pitt campus????
(Just learned that trying to figure out where in Schenley Park is that "Plaza" where that racist statue stood)

The statue was originally put up to honor the slaves who Stephen Foster got most of the songs from but people don't believe in actual nuance anymore only reacting ignorantly.
When I was at Pitt that was a giant parking lot where the Plaza is now.

and they have a site where they sell merch. I almost made an alcohol-influenced purchase of a shirt over Christmas.
At Hoss's Steak and Hoss's Sea you know that freshness is our specialty.
Our steaks are cut fresh by the butcher each day. And our seafood's so fresh it's like you live on the bay.
