Source of the post Going to do start doing this at lowes/Home Depot when this happens to me
Both Lowe's and HD have iOS apps that are surprisingly helpful, showing you exactly where an item is located including a map of the store layout.

I like counties for no apparent reason. I could explore this all day.

I’ve been to all the counties in PA and most in all neighboring states plus all New England, and FL.

My favorites are the ones you have no idea how to pronounce, like Calcasieu (calc-a-shoe) Parish, LA.

I go to West Texas occasionally and next time I am going to make some time to go to Loving County, the least populated in the country. There is no real reason for its (or many counties in Texas’) existence. But at 64 people, there it is.

Texas has 254 but it’s huge. Georgia on the other hand, much smaller and has 159. Every family got a county, I guess.

I was most surprised to learn from this that there’s more than one Chautauqua County (the one in NY and there’s one in KS).

Interesting that, Texas aside, the places that used to be Mexico/Spain tend to have a fairly high percentage of unique county names. Less so w French territories.

I really enjoy when people have super specific interests that most never think twice about. Counties is a good one.

In North Carolina school children used to be required to be able to recite all 100 counties.

one of my friends is a big county fan. I believe he just recently completed his list of Georgia counties to visit.

Should we debate if Allegheny should be marked as a unique name? Similar names in Maryland and ny

Allegheny county PA is only unique because it's an uncommon spelling of Alleghany/Allegany.
Technically unique, but it isn't.

The forest is "Allegheny National Forest" so as far as I'm concerned, that's correct and the other 2 are imposters.

I was curious as to whether Centre was unique only due to spelling. It's not. There is no Center County anywhere.

Regardless of the origin the three spellings are derivative and not 'unique' except in the strictest sense.

This surprises me. The Centre/Center thing came to mind when this topic came up, and I just sort of took it as a given that there must be a number of 'Center Counties' around the nation.

Watching sovcits get wrecked on YouTube is a guilty pleasure of mine (even I root for the police against those idiots), and this judge does a great job. Not quite as satisfying as a roadside window smash, but darn close.

My wife and I were invited to a fundraising event that's like $500 a plate. My work is covering the cost, they're just trying to find people to go to this gala thing. It's a black tie optional kind of deal.

I realized at that point, neither my wife nor I have attire that would be appropriate for such an occasion. I also realized it would involve getting child care which we'd have to pay for, and we'd have to go to an event where we'd have to interact with people rather than just hang out with each other. So everything put together, we said "thanks, but no thanks...".

Someone else will take the tickets, so no harm, no foul. But it did make us realize, we haven't been on a date in a little bit, so we'll get a baby sitter that night and go out on our own to a bar or some place we can just chill and hang out for the evening.

It turns into a different kind of magic. Especially when kids are introduced.

Ha, no ****. I found that out 9 months after getting married. 17 years later, I can say I'm the happiest and healthiest I've ever been.
