I hope so, I actually have 2 schedules, with the 2nd one start time a couple minutes after the 1st one finishes. But like you said, both scheduled passes go the same direction, instead of using a crossing pattern like the 2x option allows

Yeah, I really only want the crosshatch for our master bathroom, since one of the litter boxes is in there. The rest of the house I’m fine with the way it is.

That’s pretty nice. I was going to give him $1 to eat the clothes hanger that we let mikey avoid.

We're approaching contractor from hell territory with our flooring guy. Yesterday it was Brad Nail into Water Pipe Day. This entire thing is stressing me out like no other, and work isn't being to kind to me either. Been a really rough past 2 weeks actually.

im looking to upgrade my drill/driver. currently utilizing old milwaukee and ryobi. milwaukee batteries are imcompatible with the new line so i can switch platforms. leaning towards going dewalt with one of the 7, 9, or 10 piece kits

I don't think you can go wrong with Milwaukee, Dewalt, or Makita. I'd buy whichever kit is the cheapest, if you don't need compatibility with other tools.

For the average DIY-er I usually suggest Ridgid, only because their batteries have a lifetime warranty along with the tool.

I think o prefer dewalt solely for the reason you can get it at the blue store or the orange store

With the other brands, you generally don't have to worry about making a warranty claim...

My Makita kit just turned 9 years old last week, and is still going strong. Both batteries, both drills, and the flashlight.

That stinks. We had a really good flooring guy when we lived up that way. If you end up needing follow-on work I'll send you his name.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. They are really nice people. Apologizing and very respectful. They may also be competent if given the chance. But the lead foreman lost 2/3 of his crew in the past year so a lot of the guys are new. So even though he came with good recommendations, the team is completely different.

Flooring update: Contractor has scrapped so many floor panels that I am now on my 3rd re-order of boxes for them. In summary, I ordered 66 boxes to start which was enough for the 1200 sq ft + 10%. Ordered 10 more when I saw they were woefully short, then 7 more just as insurance so they didn't run out again. Today they asked me to order 6 more, and Home Depot is out of stock.

In my garage I counted at least 50 floor panels that are scrapped. That's not including the half pieces they didn't economically reuse. They would cut a plank to size and scrap the rest. These aren't special cuts, these are cut-the-board-in-half cuts. The other half? Scrap.

There is a transition from our kitchen into our family room that is about a 1/2" height difference. They screwed that up so many times that I think they added 4 layers of leveling grout to get it right. This last time, they couldn't figure out how to put the planks back into place to fit all the cuts they made, so pretty sure they scrapped every piece. Even full planks - scrap because they ruined the tongue-in-groove trying to get the panels to fit.

I'm hesitant to say anything now but I'm going to backcharge them for the 50 scrap pieces plus any extra boxes I have to order. The problem is if I told them now, I guarantee they'll just ghost me and not finish the job. I plan to let them finish and we'll see if they get any more money. Most likely they'll owe me money, but at this point just finish the job so we can have our house back.

I'm going to call my insurance folks in a bit, but I'll ask here while I wait.

I have a $2,000 deductible on my homeowners policy. That storm we had last night knocked shingles off the roof and allowed water to incur into the attic and eventually down to my living room ceiling. Enough that it drained out of the light fixtures and caused damage to the ceiling. I'm not sure if this will significantly exceed the $2,000. If I initiate a claim but ultimately do not have them pay out to make the repairs does that still cause my premium to increase for using the claim service?
