That info isn’t needed. You can still figure it out and say you’re moving 3.5 “kids” but it’s really not that obviously. That gets you the right answer though. Or just assume there’s 200 and work it out that way.

Interesting. I'll pass that along.

The issue would be if it said there were that many kids in each class... then you’d be cutting kids into pieces. But since it’s percentages, doesn’t really matter (at least when you don’t know the number of kids).

Right, I'm going by the problem presented. There's no number, so percentages to me is 3.5% lol.

Follow up question: Does the kid get split in half or cut in half?

And vertically, or horizontally like the kids in the socialism cartoon?

This. The problem is absolutely right... 3.5% move from history, not 3.5 kids! Are we assuming there’s 100 kids? What if there’s 200 kids? I don’t think there’s anything wrong with the problem.

What if there's only 50 kids? Now 3.5% is 1.75 kids... how do you cut off a quarter of a kid? Where do the cuts get made?
5AF Parenting Thread
Based on weight. Just have to slice off the right amount of weight.

I told mrs meow about this - she is head of the math department for her school - and she rolled her eyes. “Why do people always try to make it 100 people in these things??”

There are 200 kids in the after school program. Problem solved.

My oldest turned 25 a few weeks ago. That was fast.My god - Google Photos creates videos from videos you've uploaded and it hit us with the newborn to now, showing him walking. What an emotional shotgun blast to the chest.
I'm having a hard time today coming to grips with my son growing up and getting closer to not needing us as much, getting old sucks man.

You have married a smart person. One of our fellow posters wanted to point out the "problem" to the teacher!I told mrs meow about this - she is head of the math department for her school - and she rolled her eyes. “Why do people always try to make it 100 people in these things??”

The bigger question that I have is, why was the history program cancelled?

So lil mac is working out his dairy allergy with some gradual increases of milk. The only problem is he refuses it every night. Right now we're on 4ml and he just won't take it. The doctor says not to mix it into anything. We are struggling mightily here and usually end up forcing it down his throat with a syringe. I hate it.

Heh, in the late 70s my parents worked out my dairy intolerance by adding milk to coffee. I was 5-6.

I was also allergic to milk as an infant. I was fed canned soy formula throughout my entire childhood and switched to soy milk and other similar "fake" milks when I was older. Regular milk still tastes weird to me, although I do drink it now in breakfast smoothies. I buy the Fairlife stuff these days.

Anybody have a good recommendation for a Pokemon rule book? My son likes to collect the cards, but has no idea how the game(s) are played, nor do I. A quick google/Amazon search doesn't show much.
