If I'm accusing you of backpedalling in this thread, I wouldn't be the only one.A lot of time when people try to clarify statements with you and soften their approach, it's met with something along the lines of "nice backpedal"...this instance is no different...
Agree. The cause is righteous but as you said the execution is horrendous. It is turning off more people than being a positive.
Most religions, BLM, or our government? The cause is righteous but as you said the execution is horrendous. It is turning off more people than being a positive.

My Facebook feed is getting out of hand, I think the first step is unfollow everybody who shares a Tomi Lahren video
Straw poll for the board:If you know people of color in your personal life, maybe go see if they've ever been harassed by the police for no reason or regularly followed around in department stores like they're about to steal everything.
The name was unfamiliar to me, so I Googled it. She looks like the dragon lady from that stupid HBO show where people's heads get squeezy popped and the fight choreography looks like something out of a high school ballet company. My Facebook feed is getting out of hand, I think the first step is unfollow everybody who shares a Tomi Lahren video
She is pretty good looking though.
Voter ID law struck in North Dakota now, too.I'm happy to move again. No so fast there Sparky:WI is a Real ID and Voter ID state. I'm safe.Dodint triggered.

U.S. District Judge James D. Peterson suggested he would strike the entire law if he were not bound by the Supreme Court’s decision that states may use properly written voter-ID laws to guard against voter fraud.
“The evidence in this case casts doubt on the notion that voter ID laws foster integrity and confidence,” Peterson wrote. “The Wisconsin experience demonstrates that a preoccupation with mostly phantom election fraud leads to real incidents of disenfranchisement, which undermine rather than enhance confidence in elections, particularly in minority communities. To put it bluntly, Wisconsin’s strict version of voter ID law is a cure worse than the disease.” The state will appeal both rulings.

Who here has store security follow them around virtually 100% of the time when they enter a store?
When a black guy is killed by police in highly dubious circumstances and there are no criminal charges, or when a prosecutor shows clear bias in favor of the police, or when there is no criminal or extra-judicial sanction for clearly untoward police conduct, it must be viewed through the looking glass of a reality that nearly everyone in this community has not and will not ever directly experience. And these use-of-force incidents are the only visible element of that reality. In that light, it's very easy to look at mitigating facts and arrive at what seems to be a perfectly just and reasoned conclusion, but which obscures and in many cases flatly ignores the larger context which is what really animates things like BLM.
This point often gets overlooked because slavery has been over for awhile, so it's all good.Straw poll for the board:If you know people of color in your personal life, maybe go see if they've ever been harassed by the police for no reason or regularly followed around in department stores like they're about to steal everything.

Possession of a small amount of marijuana within State College Borough will now be a summary offense, rather than a misdemeanor, following approval of an ordinance by Borough Council on Monday night.
Council voted 5-2 for the ordinance, which treats possession of a small amount of marijuana -- 30 grams or less of marijuana or eight grams or less of hashish -- much like an open container violation. Individuals in possession of or smoking marijuana would be issued a non-traffic citation, rather than receiving a misdemeanor criminal charge. Possession results in a $250 citation and smoking a $350 citation. Parents of individuals under the age of 18 who are cited would be notified.

I wonder at what point you will begin to allow facts to guide your decision making on this matter?
So suspicious looking things given the nature of the potential offense committed? You didn't cavity search every eight year old that came in...? Interesting policy...Source of the post if you came in baggy pants or an outfit that didn't suit the weather
