For those with a clear view to the north, we stand about as good a chance as ever of seeing the aurora borealis tonight. Best time will be after sunset and before moonrise.

Been reading Bill James's work "Popular Crime", which is fantastic btw, and I had never read the Donahue/Hickey argument on JFK. 100% think that is the most likely scenario now.

No, it isn't.

There are few things I can say with certitude, but "John Kennedy was not accidentally shot in the melon by a wobbly Secret Service agent" is assuredly one of them.

I think I am in the minority, but I think Oswald was the only one firing that shot Kennedy

I watched this a while back but fun to watch again. This dad seems so cool, I want to be friends.

Edit: Aw man, just found out he was a comedian. That kind of ruins the authentic nature of it.

There are aspects of the physical evidence that indicate it was essentially impossible for Oswald to have fired all the shots. (There is audio evidence that there were four shots, there was a temporal gap between JFK's and Connolly's reactions to being hit, the Magic Bullet, etc.)

Which is a far cry from suggesting the president was shot by an accidental discharge by a Secret Service agent from a moving car containing seven other Secret Service agents, two members of the administration, and escorted by two DPD motorcycle cops (none of whom reported hearing a gunshot inches from their heads), which would have also come from a physical position that would not have had line-of-sight on the 'target' without either raising the rifle close to a foot over the prospective shooter's head without going through the car's windshield, none of which is evident on the Bronson film that shows the motorcade at the moment of the fatal headshot from a position directly opposite to where Abraham Zapruder was filming. And Bronson film notwithstanding, the only accidental discharge around a sitting president in Secret Service history just happened to strike that president in the noggin during the exact six-second span someone else was deliberately trying to shoot him in the brain?

But, I mean, whatever, man.

One of the more interesting aspects of the Warren Commission and aftermath are the ties to Pennsylvania. Arlen Specter, of course, was the author of the single-bullet theory and insisted his whole life that Oswald acted alone. Cyril Wecht, who would go on to hold many Allegheny County positions (including coroner and Chief Medical Examiner), and is still alive today at 87, believes that there is no way Oswald acted alone.

Wecht was also the first person to discover that JFK's brain (along with a lot of other data) somehow went missing. JFK's brain has never been found to this day. Wecht is still very active in the Pittsburgh area.

JFK's brain has never been found to this day.
This is so........ weird. Never mind that the feds had no authority to remove the body from Dallas, or that they roped in two doctors for the autopsy who had no experience in forensic pathology. To then end up with "whoops, where'd the brain get to?" I mean......

I have tons of skepticism about the official record on the JFK assassination. But I'm not really buying any of the dopey conspiracy angles that seemed to profligate in the late 80s and early 90s between the 25th and 30th anniversaries. About the deepest I'd go is that Oswald was paid by some third party, or that there were two shooters on the day. (Which I guess sort of would be the definition of a conspiracy.) Beyond that, who knows.

I got pulled over on the way home, going about 60 on a rural back road that is signed 40. The officer just happened to be the same officer that helped me my wallet back last year. I was very apologetic, and he told me as long as my license was good he was just going to ask me to slow down. I don't think he was running radar, I just happened to blow by him as he was coming up a side road.

Big sigh of relief. That one would have hurt. It's a very rural road that is wide open and straight, but I'll be following the limit pretty closely moving forward.

Interior lights on, windows down, hands on wheel, keys on dash. Shows you understand their task is hard and uncertain. That said, I am respectful but not admitting fault through an apology. ;)

I've only been pulled over at DUI checkpoints, which I think are total BS, but I play along. The troopers have always been very polite. Some chat with me about my Wrangler and the bigfoot graphics that cover it. It seems to be the same group of guys usually. The last time I couldn't find my current insurance info and they just waved me through.

On another note, we are going to Double Dare Live tomorrow in Lancaster. I so badly want to get picked to go up. It's random apparently. Marc Summers will be there.

Does/did Summers have germaphobia? Or was that just Howie Mandel?
