Right up until Joe Burrow's contract is finalized. And I don't have a problem with the contract. When you look at what Lamar got despite his likely short shelf life and lack of postseason success, and you look at what Hurts got after 1 good season, it makes sense that he should be right with them. The lack of a defense besides Bosa and the perpetually injured WR core along with the Madden playing coach has held them back.

The question for me is whether Mahomes will renegotiate after Burrow signs. At some point you have to look at the Brady model and decide that an extra $5 million a year isn't worth it when you could give that to your lineman who keep you upright. Part of me hopes that Mahomes's renegotiated deal is not the hold-up on Chris Jones.

I’ve been on the overrated train with him for awhile. I think he’s a good QB but when I see people saying he’s top 3 or 4 or 5, I snicker

I think he's top 5 in the NFL today...I just think the top 5 has been the weakest its been in nearly 2 decades and we are due for a recalibration of what it means to be a top 5 QB....
