does earth exist in the star wars cannon?
'A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away....' sort of connotes that on its own, doesn't it?

How about was ET a Jedi Padawan? ET could make stuff fly, heal, mind control. I would not go full out Jedi as ET was not real good at all of those things, and seemed a bit... childish at times, but potentially a youngling type.
The novelization of E.T. claims he's like millions of Earth years old, but still a juvenile of his species.

There's a running theory out there that pretty much all Lucas movies take place in the same universe. Everything from SW, to THX, to American Graffiti, to frickin' Willow.

from the little I have read about this, it's pretty interesting. Did that come to light with TFA?

The Force is an evolution of what Lucas first called 'the Whills' in his early drafts. He then changed the Whills to be a sort of galactic record keeping race of beings that observed life around the galaxy and documented it. (Think the Q in Star Trek TNG, sort of) The idea was that SW was to be sort of narrated by them. That idea was eventually scrapped, but Lucas retained the storybook 'a long time ago' opening.

The Guardians of the Whills were the beings that were their protectors. To my knowledge, Chirrut and Baze in RO are the first cinematic references to the Whills.

I would imagine, since American Graffiti and Indy are included.

It is, in all honestly, one of the most ridiculous fans theories I've ever devoted any time reading.

Is there any word on potential focus for the live-action series? All I've heard is that it will be on Disney's streaming service, which should cost "substantially" less than Netflix.
