Our mandate went relatively smoothly. Very few issues with people really digging inSpeaking of UPMC, looks like they will be mandating vaccines for their employees. Should be interesting to see the fallout from this

COVID-19
A local woman who works as a home health aide lost her job because she "took a stand for what she believed in" and wouldn't get vaxxed. Now she's asking for help paying her bills.
Meanwhile some super helpful Karen on FB is telling hospital employees to come to her for help in getting moral/religious exceptions so they can continue working.

This guys is dumb:
So all the other vaccinations etc. from before that were put in your body and you didn't care? The shame of this lunacy is that he has two kids he's jeopardizing with a lack of income, and sickness. The 34-year-old husband and father of two explained to KDKA why he won’t get the vaccine.
“The number one reason I’m doing this is for medical freedom, for you to have the right to choose and for me to have the right to choose,” Chesher said. “No employer, no Rich Fitzgerald, no dictator should be telling me what to do with my body.”

If we are going with medical freedom, that should go with the hospitals refusing or putting some type of extra in for the unvaxxed as well. I just saw Netherlands or somewhere is imposing a monthly fee for those over 60 that aren't vaxxedThis guys is dumb:

insurance companies need to start charging higher premiums for unvaxxed people
COVID-19
Not directly related, but I was reading about the USMC response to anti-vaxxers. Their system for religious exemptions is multilayered, centralized, and really thorough. They've also approved exactly 0% of the requests.Meanwhile some super helpful Karen on FB is telling hospital employees to come to her for help in getting moral/religious exceptions so they can continue working.
They've only approved 14 permanent medical exemptions and about 300 temporaries.
COVID-19
Catholics think they have one but even the Pope told them to pound sand. So, no? If there were I would assume there would be some Amish sects or something, but nothing compatible with voluntary military service that I can think of.

I would think Christian Scientists would object as they believe in the power of prayer over medicine. Is there a religion that has a legit objection to the vaccine?
COVID-19
Vaccines are not medicine, though.
I was basically a pin cushion at boot camp, got maybe 15 vaccines? It'd be tough to find a religious exemption for the COVID vaccine that also didn't qualify for the other 15. Why is the COVID vaccine unique amongst all required? (answer: resistance is politically motivated)

true and the CS have stated it's not an "official policy" to refuse vaccines.Vaccines are not medicine, though.

it’s funny because of course there’s nothing in the bible (or any religious text) that says vaccines are bad but the stupid **** interpretations for some reason lead them to that
religious exemptions are dumb no matter what. Churches should pay taxes and everyone should get the vaccine

...an individual who traveled from South Africa on November 22 and tested positive for Covid-19 on November 29.
The person was fully vaccinated and is experiencing "mild symptoms, which are improving at this point," Fauci said.
Asked by CNN whether that person had a booster shot, Fauci said, "To my knowledge, no."

Again, the antivaxers that are claiming religious reasons is the whole dead baby in the shot thing. That is their sticking point. Which IMO is dumb.it’s funny because of course there’s nothing in the bible (or any religious text) that says vaccines are bad but the stupid **** interpretations for some reason lead them to that

Yes. O2 sat dropped 8 or 9 days into her illness as she developed pneumonia. They had her on 60L of oxygen and she was essentially unable to even talk for about 5 days. She was vaxxed and boosted and does not have any underlying health issues other than being 60.Good to hear. Did she have breathing issues?Aunt is being discharged today.
