For my birthday, Papa Kaiser got us tickets to see HEART In September.
That will sorta be a hometown gig of sorts for them, right?

I saw them at the HOB in West Hollywood a long time ago. Nancy was preggers, so she didn't actually perform; as a guitar player, I felt aggrieved.

Yes I believe so. They grew up in Bellevue, WA.
I'm sorry you didn't get to see her play. I'll see if I can take a video!
I've always wondered why she plays rhythm for most of the songs and then plays led Zeppelin for fun. Not that I'm complaining. That lady could strum a cat and I'd think it was the best thing in the world.

How long have you been playing guitar?
I try to play Keyboard. I learned some Adele songs and I'm trying to learn a Radiohead song.
And maybe my own songs... :face:

I started when I was 10, so 32 years.

Been playing a lot of Fleetwood Mac songs lately, since seeing them live on my birthday last month.

I love Cinderella (unfairly maligned as a hair metal band) and my wife saw Tom Keifer's solo album in the $5 bin at Walmart and bought it for me. It is really influenced by his move to Nashville (read hear acoustic singer-songrwiter feel), but it ain't bad. Almost a Rod Stewart kind of feel to it.

I'm assuming you know that he's playing Altar Bar tonight, right?

Recently ran across The Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band on XM's Outlaw Country channel, and damn am I impressed. They mix nicely mix country and Delta blues. The band comprises Josh "The Reverend" Peyton on guitar, Ben Bussell on drums (his drum kit incorporates a 5-gallon bucket) and Josh's wife Breezy Peyton on washboard.

Yep...but I live in south Mississippi. Closest he'll get to me is Dallas.

Considering going to see the Violent Femmes when they come in June to AE. Anyone know what traffic/parking is like when there is a concert and pirates game going on at once?

That guy sure can play guitar, and I'm always going to be impressed by a three-person band where one of them is a dedicated washboard player.

In this video a fan brought Reverend Peyton a cigar-box guitar to try out, and this is the sound check with it:

The HBO show Togetherness used Mac's "Never Going Back Again" over the end titles, perfect for the theme of that episode. An excellent tune, to be sure.

Three new albums for me this week: Mumford and Sons (meh), My Morning Jacket (good), and Ivan and Alyosha (excellent).

Good stuff for bluegrass fans and this nice weather

I just watched Montage of Heck, and I thought it was great until Courtney Love's appearance.
