Bra is playing Vado in Italy's Serie D today and it pleases me way more than it should.

Mango, man. It's fantastic how good a freshly cut mango is.
I'm sure I've said this before on this board, but fresh mango in Thailand...heaven.
Never been to Thailand, but the first time I ever got food giggles was the first time I had mango and sticky rice at the Wat in North Hollywood. Impossible to oversell how tasty that is.

i just got a good automated phone call. that is enough in itself but in fact it was an awesome automated phone call and gives me hope for the future. i've been meaning to change my hours on google for christmas and they just called me and i had a conversation with a computer that clearly had plenty of phrases to choose from. his voice was to my huge surprise not annoying at all. his timing was amazing. and as always i answered the phone angry knowing (by the number) that this was a fake call but by the end i felt like i enjoyed my time with google call service and they saved me time! was this like alphazero intellegence?

Along the same lines...

Pixel 5 call screening.

Google assistant will take a number that is calling me, ask for why they are calling and then it will ring through and I can see the transcript before deciding if I want to answer or not.

Yeah it's nice. My pixel 3 does that as well.

You look at it on a plate, and there's absolutely no foreshadowing how delicious it's going to be. Top 5 food joy imo.

When I am in a slightly grumpy mood and a Trump supporting friend starts talking... Pangs of joy at the knowledge of what is about to happen...

One of the recent iOS versions allow you to keep certain videos open even while looking at other apps. Pretty sick for watching Redzone on spectrums app and browsing other stuff

Don’t confuse this with me complimenting spectrums app. **** spectrum

Getting up at the regular weekday time on the weekend, putting on the old Casey Kasem American Top 40 or a Film Noir on TCM, cuddling with the pups, surfing the web, drinking a pot of coffee and maybe a bloody, and just enjoying quiet time while everyone else sleeps in. Preferably till 1 PM or so.

this. back when I ate out at restaurants it was always "water with lime please". better flavor and though I've never worked in a restaurant, friends who have tell me that lemons are one of those things touched by just about everyone who works there. :scared:

Nothing irrational about that.

I wake up at 6 AM every day to get a solid quiet hour by myself before the kids get up

My office is in a converted bedroom that has one of those standard two-bulb lights. One of the bulbs has been burnt out since we moved here. Finally changed it today and it's a whole new world in here. That part of the room is my bar and bookcases so it's nice to be able to see them again.

google maps has been very useful in helping me figure out public transportation while in the UK

however today, I just landed in Gatwick Airport (a bit south of London) and I need to get to Heathrow. Gatwick has a train station but in its directions to Heathrow, they recommend I take the British equivalent of Uber north 10 minutes, then take a train south back to the airport train station and then take another train north to London (and eventually transfer there). I was very confused but had a good laugh when I realized that it’s just a bug

Was reading a year old article about gentrification in Charlotte and came across this
Atkinson said he remembers the first time he knew that Optimist Park was poised for irreversible change. It was about 2009, and Atkinson watched a young, white female jogger pass by a corner where a handful of Black men were standing. She nodded at them as she passed, and they returned the gesture.

“That right there was the first time that I knew this was going to happen,” he said. “It was too late then. I never had seen a white girl jog down here — ever.”

I understand what the guy means but I find it ever so funny that a non-racist white woman jogging is such an ominous sign

Well, first there's one white woman jogging and before you know it, there's a Starbucks on every corner selling pumpkin spice lattes.

I admit the title of the thread needs some work but the intent of the thread is to be the counter to the You Know What Grinds My Gears thread

ideally no (see: viewtopic.php?p=1144713#p1144713) but I drink water most of the time. These gatorades are only for post intense workouts (ie pickup hockey)
