I’m constructing a 435 linear foot fence this weekend. Thoughts and prayers please.

Do you guys have someone come out and maintenance your furnace each year before turning it on for the season?

Nope, I maintain it myself. Furnace brush to clean out the burner tubes - which is probably more required for me since I’m on propane - shoot compressed air through then afterwards, and sometimes scuff you the igniter and flame sensor using a dollar bill. The latter two are really only required if there’s an issue.
If you’re looking into it, I’m curious as to what the company’s service includes. The only thing I can think of is a diagnostics check of the board, but most systems 10-15 years and newer should at least throw a series of lights doing most of the same work. I could see them possible checking the gas pressure at both ends of the gas valve, but I have no idea if that’s actually done for preventative maintenance.

This furnace is 3 years old so I'm not too worried about anything going crazy wrong. There is an LED light which will throw a code if something is up. I didn't even consider it until I heard a co-worker say they can't turn their heat on until they get their yearly service.Nope, I maintain it myself. That’s pretty paranoid, to me. The heating system is so much less complicated than AC. Do they also have their AC serviced annually?

I have no idea but it was said with such confidence that I assumed all home owners did the same and nobody ever told me.

I don’t know anyone who uses a service like that on a regular basis.
