Watched Smokey and the bandit. What a movie. Absolutely love how aggressive bandit is behind the wheel. Also enjoy the causal conversation they over lay with the driving scenes. Very nice touch. I really wish I held on to my CB from high school.

Yeah, it was really great. Holds up pretty well, all things considered.

Have you watched the 2nd one lately? We'll pretend like there isn't a 3rd.

Have you ever watched Stroker Ace? It pales in comparison to Smokey but it definitely brings back the Burt Reynolds nostalgia.
In 2002, I "won" a Spam eating contest on a Coast Guard cutter and my reward was a DVD of Stroker Ace

Hal Needham and Burt must have been buddies. I like that he also directed RAD. In the same sense as stuntman to director, I need to watch gumball rally again

He turned down Terms Of Endearment to make this movie for Needham.
Seriously, the list of movies Reynolds turned down is kind of.............. I don't even know how to describe it.
James Bond, The Godfather, Star Wars, Pretty Woman, Die Hard.............. he turned down not one but
two different roles that ultimately went to Jack Nicholson and won him Oscars.

In that article, it states that the Snyder cut is being released in 4:3 format rather than widescreen. What the hell

Yeah, the trailer's in 1.33, if you didn't notice. It's a nod to sort of optimize for IMAX; makes the figures seem - visually - larger than life.

I was disappointed with Nomadland. I think a lot of that was because I read the book first. It started off pretty good, but when they introduced a romance between two fictional characters where everyone else in the movie was real people from the book, it went down hill. No question they captured the sadness from the book, but they did not capture the joy these communities have of living that lifestyle, no matter how hard it is. It was kind of like a nomad origin story for Frances Mccdormand. All of the interesting details from the book were glossed over in the background. I think this would have been much better as a documentary (which it kind of started that way) rather than a semi boring drama within the story of the book. The photography was beautiful.
