I'm so glad I get to carry over 30 days of PTO. My bank is full going into next year, and I plan to use a good bit of it. I can go through some cyclical years of using a lot and then not using a lot to save back up.
I get/carry over 256 hours/32 days of PTO, one year of which can be carried over and paid out when you leave the company "Unlimited" PTO and 10 holidays.

We can carry over 56 hours, which is why I’m off from 12/22-1/2. Like skull, I try and use every hour I get because it doesn’t make sense not to.

Meanwhile, my wife is sitting on a pile of PTO that is well over 400 hours as of this very moment.

Yeah my wife sells back at least 40-60hrs of PTO every year. Every year she says she is going to use more cause she is maxed out, yet she never does haha.

Man, I miss PTO cash out. Nothing like getting a $5k+ check right before vacation and still having more than enough time to use. Unfortunately, they don't do that at my wife's place, otherwise we'd cash out enough to pay for my daughter's college.

We originally got to carry over vacation days, but some people were basically holding the company hostage by acrruing an insane amount of days that would be espensive to pay should the person leave or be let gom

So they went to a straight PTO system where the number of days is based off of tenure and they do not carry over.

This didn't bother me because I actually got more days overall and there is no feeling like you have to get "sick" towards the end of the year if you have sick days left to burn and such.

Against my better judgement I agreed to participate on an interview panel at 3:30 pm. Which naturally has been pushed back to 4:00. Fml

At your level, wouldn't most meetings like that be set by senior leaders? Or are middle management peons dropping stuff like this?

Company I (somehow still) work for is splitting off into a couple of different companies. I will be placed under a management company that's based out of Florida (no state tax). In the agreement, I get a $1 raise. Seems like they're up to something...but I don't know what...

I assume that that means they get like $50 trillion in tax breaks for some reason or something...but I have no clue...

FL has no personal income tax, but does have corporate income tax.

The location of their headquarters has no bearing on your state income tax

My company ignored my address change for two years...so I was getting hit for PA (+Philly) and NY (+NYC). I'm trying to undo it in the most careful way possible.

Working for Florida based company should remove any chance of Philly/PA taxes being a part of my life anymore...

This. You're still paying income taxes to the state you lived/worked in.

Not all of it, no. That's the part I'm working on. Unaccountable bureaucracies don't take kindly to returning money...and I can't send them to jail, so it's tough...

Not really...I thought they'd do some sort of corrective action at some point too, I don't know what because I don't know **** about this stuff...but evidently they never did. But I have no reason to look at a paystub...

Isn't that normal for living and working in two different states? I mean, there are places where working in a different city carries a different tax, right?

It seems like doing taxes for professional athletes is a colossal PITA.
