That’s so short. My company has some crazy retention policies and they still give us 90 days on Teams messages

Everywhere I've worked has had a default retention for email of 1 year at a minimum. That extends out to more like 5-7 years if you work for an organ-i-zation that has heightened data/privacy security obligations (HIPAA, SOX, etc). I think credit card data is a minimum of 1 year.
All you dopey fruitbats with your 'days of retention'.....

My law firm is 180 days, IIRC. Shred, baby, shred.

Are law firms still creating mountains of paper documents? My law firm is 180 days, IIRC. Shred, baby, shred.

Is the intern in charge of shredding the electronic communications (?) also responsible for melting the snow in the Zamboni garage?

Probably depends on the firm and the specific practice area. In our litigation group, we long ago shifted to working almost entirely with electronic documents, but I know some of our folks in the corporate and estates groups still do a fair bit on paper and maintain paper files. We also have the money to spend on a pretty good document-management system, so that makes it easier to do everything electronically.

playing pickup hockey and we usually do dedicated forwards and d-men
today there were two d-men who were clearly very good but always joined the rush, leading to a significant amount of odd-man rushes the other way
I get that it’s pickup hockey and not the end of the world but what kind of jabroni says they want to stay on defense (when I told them I can switch with them) but yet doesn’t actually play defense

D-men should join the rush. Forwards should cover for them when they become the primary puck carrier. That's hockey 101...201 at best...

I meant to pick this up last week but forgot. What is the software your firm uses for document management? This sort of stuff interests me.We also have the money to spend on a pretty good document-management system, so that makes it easier to do everything electronically.

I like having the good players on D and letting them dictate the play

That’s how I started my 10U team this year.
“Raise your hand if you play D. Ok you suck and you suck so go grab yourself a wing. You two are my best players. Welcome to defense”

yes but also being a good player means knowing that half your forwards don't know what "forwards should cover for them" means and if the forwards are incompetent, which they were, and if the defensemen were never making an attempt to get back on defense, which they weren't, **** is gonna hit the fanD-men should join the rush. Forwards should cover for them when they become the primary puck carrier. That's hockey 101...201 at best...
there were way too many odd man rushes our way and it's the defense's responsibility ultimately to make sure that doesn't happen, one way or another

Not having seen this particular instance(s), this is basically 100% on the forwards...yes but also being a good player means knowing that half your forwards don't know what "forwards should cover for them" means and if the forwards are incompetent, which they were, and if the defensemen were never making an attempt to get back on defense, which they weren't, **** is gonna hit the fanD-men should join the rush. Let's cut to the chase: Weenie got yelled at on the bench for not rotating back when a defenseman pinched.

lol no. It was a bunch of Erik Karlsson wanna bes who hogged the puck, didn't come back on defense and didn't want to move up to a forward position when I asked them. They were skillful but it's annoying to have to deal with this in pick-upLet's cut to the chase: Weenie got yelled at on the bench for not rotating back when a defenseman pinched.
it's like when you play pickup basketball and there's that one dude who's 6'4" but insists on shooting 3s the entire game
