Yes. Although the Ferraris seem to pull it off the best, and the Williams the worst.

The sooner @MercedesAMGF1 and @ScuderiaFerrari breakaway the better as far as I’m concerned. These massive industrial complexes are ruining the sport. They don’t want to play. They want it all, and all the time. The @fia have lost grip of @F1 @SkySportsF1 #f1

To quote Ron Dennis from the early 90s: A team that exists to win should not be worried that it is winning too much.

Also
@MercedesAMGF1 -- ‘Massive industrial complexes ruining the sport.’ We don’t remember you complaining when you were winning all those races with top of the line Renault-power, Damon.

This all stems in my mind from the cost of engine development. If there was a cheaper customer solution things would probably be in a better place. The problem with that is Red Bull is the loudest complainer, and they unfortunately complain about everythign so its ahrd to take the whole movement seriously. It's like shad with the gays :slug:

lol

Think back to the days before the tobacco money went away. When manufacturers came in, how much of their F1 spend could be buried under R&D for the parent company? And this was when the publicly available figures put teams like Ferrari, McLaren (Mercedes), and Toyota were all spend half a billion a year to build a car that would be effectively obsolete by the time it started its first race.

Is it just me, or has there been something of a spike in unsafe releases from the pits since all the teams switched to the traffic light system?

So it looks like the OTT streaming service will be ready for the Spanish GP. And they'll be using NBC's tech. Which is very funny, since NBC got out of the F1 business because they didn't want to compete with themselves when the OTT product came out.

With the WatchESPN App having commercial free start-on-demand race coverage I'm pretty sure the Liberty media offering is dead in the water for me. Thanks Mothers!

Does anyone know if that service is only for live streaming, or would it also allow one to watch races after the fact? At the moment, I definitely watch F1 races using purely legal methods and totally not anything that would violate anyone's copyrights, but I might be willing to pay to use that service if it's on-demand.

Hmmm, the press release isn't super clear. It says the top tier product will have on-demand 'content', but it doesn't specify if that includes races in their entirety.

Wow...... not just that, it's dated a year to the day before his fatal crash at Monza. (Unless he's doing European date format, which in hindsight seems likely)

Yep, it’s was a “nice” thought, but they did not hold Monza and Indy in September. :)
Pretty sure just about everybody who got behind the wheel the of one of Colin’s cars felt the same way. Kind of impressed he sent it to the HoJo.

Neat tidbit: The No. 46 Team TGM Mercedes-AMG GT4 team truck driver had a family tragedy during the race weekend and Owen Trinkler happened to still have a CDL so he drove the team truck back from Sebring.

Had to turn down a small but paid driver coaching gig today because it's finals time and I can't spare an evening. I hate school with the fire of a thousand suns.
