So what’s this rumor that Trump had a medical episode today? Did he go to the hospital or something?
There was what people described as an IV bruise on his hand. the conversation i saw took its natural course, and now there are COVID infected migrant children chained up in the white house to be drained of plasma.

That was a sobering read. 11% of his staff already have COVID-19, and he lost a teacher over the summer (and her brother).

Minneapolis tribune had a story over the weekend about the rise in crime in the city over the past few months. Police have told people to just give up their cellphones if attacked and not to carry cash around to be more safe.

"Open or lose your funding"
Yeah, read that yesterday. These decisions should be made on a case by case basis, and no funding should be tied to it.

So many people are adamant about opening or not opening. There is no right answer. Every district has to make a decision based in their area and their population. That decision shouldn’t be clouded by outside factors. And after that decision is made, it’s going to have major negative impacts on people, no matter which decision it is.

Agree. This is going to be tough.

I think my school disctrict has done a good job given the circumstances. They've done parent surveys, took into consideration a lot of factors, came up with multiple options for the kids to chose from, and are going to be flexible throughout the year based on changing landscape.

It's not easy, and it may not work in the long run. But they have had awesome communication and have been working on incorporating community feedback as well and making it work for the parents.

One thing I do like that our school is doing, the virtual option is going to have dedicated teachers teaching the class live, so the kids can be interactive and they can't just "do their work" and be done in 20 minutes for the day.

This is pretty much the exact opposite of what my district has done. No surveys to parents, no consultation with teachers, no community involvement. The superintendent came up with a plan and the board approved it. No virtual option. Either in-person or enroll in cyber school. It could change if our county goes to yellow, which hasn’t happened anywhere in the state even with the spikes. I’m starting to get nervous to go back.

Probably going to see a lot more of this happening once schools open back up:

I think this is going to be happening a lot more (maybe not deaths, but just cases overall) this fall and winter when people are getting colds and the flu, and others getting COVID, thinking it's just the cold or flu, etc. It's going to be mass confusion.

At least this spring/summer, if you have symptoms you automatically assume it may be COVID as colds and flu are rarer this time of year.

If there was more mask compliance, and it continued into the fall/winter, I'm hoping that helps reduce the spread of cold/flu as well. But overall, yes, mass confusion.

Yes, it's a big scam. Hell, you win a few terms and walk away and make even more money at a thinktank or on the board of some Fortune 500 company. Then there are the speaking engagements, if you are so inclined...
