More GOP efforts to block counting mail in votes expected to favor democrats:

A Republican congressional candidate in Pennsylvania sued county authorities Tuesday to throw out mail ballots containing errors that were corrected by voters.

Kathy Barnette, the Republican candidate in Pennsylvania’s 4th Congressional District, filed a complaint against senior elections officials in Montgomery County in federal court in Philadelphia.

Barnette alleged that county officials violated state election law and her constitutional rights by checking mail ballots before Election Day and contacting voters to invite them to resolve defects that were discovered. She also alleged that observers were not given sufficient notice that ballots were to be checked and were not given proper access to watch the process.

Just voted at Twin Lakes. Small polling place. Two voting machines. Short line though, 25 minutes from the time I left my desk until the time I got back to it. We were 309 and 310 to vote there today.

Voted Dem for President, three Libertarian down ballot, and two Dem down ballot. Wasn't intentionally blocking out the GOP. I researched each candidate individually and that's just how it shook out.

I haven't moved nor is this my first time voting in this district. Am I missing something? Why was I asked for ID?

That's basically how it went for me...of the candidates are researched, I ended up going 2 Dem, 0 Rep., 1 Lib...

And I was forced to show ID.

I was also asked to show my ID...which the nerd at the desk gave some reason that he trailed off while reciting, but I didn't care...how else would you know it's me? Just because I said it's me? I don't know what the rules are with that, but I also don't care...

But I mean, I know my neighbors' names and, by accident, have some of their mail...could I go back and put one in for Jo Jo too...? I'd feel better about myself if I could do that haha

When we dropped off our ballots in Butler a couple weeks ago we were asked to show ID and the official collecting ballots was comparing license signature to ballot signature. Saw on the news late last week that they were told to stop that so someone must have complained.

IIRC they did that today at my polling place. I don't really care though, I just assumed it was for verification.

You do not need to show ID in PA unless it's your first time voting in the district. A guy on r/pittsburgh said the poll workers asked for ID because the state requested they asked. He didn't have ID and the voter protection official stepped in and said he didn't need to show ID unless it was his first time voting there.

My signature is a hot mess and not very consistent...it's just a big piece of an 'M' and then a bunch of **** depending on my mood and the quality of the pen...

That's a silly way to do it...as someone that used to collect hockey cards, you could even see signature deteriorate on short-run cards or alter significantly over the years (like Jagr's)...as I talk it out, that's a dumb and pointless way to do it, but then again, I handled an actual piece of paper while touching a touch screen computer...like I was slipping one of those punch cards into a vacuum tube computer...

Estonia votes electronically, like I always say, just follow the Estonian method...
