I think I jinxed it when I told my buddies over the weekend that turnpike commuting is the best because there are never issues with traffic.

I am so thankful I don't have to go anywhere near Route 28 anymore. I feel like there's an accident every single day.

largely because people drive like maniacs on it. the left lane is usually people going 25+mph over speed limit and right lane is people going 5mph under speed limit and make the merge points imposisble

I made the right at Giant Eagle and cut over to Babcock then filtered down and got on at exit 2 on 28. Super easy merge at that point.

I'm 0/2 on morning commutes. At least my Android gives me a heads up, I thought it was wrong when it said there was a 2hr36min delay on Rt. 28. My total commute door to door is only 10.2 miles, so that would be pretty exceptional.

Oh for real, it's a total sh*tshow. I was there for the 5+ years it was under construction, and the 1-2 after it was "complete" and I felt that nothing ever really changed in regards to traffic.

That road and merge points for that road were absolutely horrendously designed originally, but I don't know how it could have been addressed because it's next to the river and so close to towns.

I am much better now that I take 279 or 79 every day. Less time, and much less stress.

A buddy of mine on FB is stuck in it and has been since 6:20. I couldn't imagine being stuck that long. Although, I believe he's getting paid, so it's no big deal to him.

Yeah, it's still backed up past the Rt. 8 exit and Rt. 8 is backed up a bit.

Unreal. Got an email from a co-worker around 10 saying she's been stopped since 6 and hopes to make it into the office. She must still be sitting there as she's not here yet.

Honestly, the merge point from 40th Street bridge is atrocious.

I made it to work because I was going against traffic, but it took me almost 2.5 hours. Was not happy about that.

I agree. I think they poorly designed that. I've seen people when there's traffic, get off at that exit, only to merge again to get past traffic.

Such a weird design.

They were able to open a lane at 2:30pm, so she may turn up right as you're leaving. It's still backed up to exit 5, though.
