I was perusing HBO Max yesterday and noped right past that one. I just do not enjoy watching him act.

Yellowstone fans; should I watch Yellowstone before 1883 or does it not matter? You can inject Sam Elliott right into my veins anytime.

No Sam Elliott in Yellowstone, just a knockoff of him. I haven't seen 1883 so can't comment on your question.

Edit: being that 1883 is a prequel, you're probably OK watching it first.

I don't agree with that assessment. Just because something is a prequel doesn't mean you're okay watching it first.

I've seen neither Yellowstone nor 1883 though so this is based mostly on Star Wars.

"How To, with John Wilson" on HBOMax. Highly recommended. Very hard to describe. I guess documentary/collage would be the best fit? Just have to watch it and you'll see what I mean. Some of the footage (and even moreso, the way he's able to incorporate it into the show) is pretty wild, not to mention the people he comes across along the way. Again, you just have to give it a go.

Really struggled to get into the new Dexter for some reason. Something felt off about it, although there were flashes of what I liked about the original series.

Then I got the ending spoiled by Google assistant/today app on my phone, which pissed me off. Although it might have saved me from watching the last five episodes. Ugh.

Yellowstone has four seasons available. 1883 has four episodes so far.

Start with Yellowstone.

Watched the first episode of BBC's Ghosts. Enjoyed it, so we'll see how the rest goes. Definitely has a different feel to it (less goofy).

I think it's on Hulu, but don't quote me on that.

I told YTTV to record it about three weeks ago and it looks to have captured all four seasons. It replays on CMT, Paramount, Pop, and TV Land so it collected them pretty fast.

Netflix DVD? Should I telegram them to request it?

It looks like Peacock has the first three seasons. I'll start there and figure out 4 when I get to it.

I assumed the whole thing was a Paramount+ exclusive. Apparently, only 1883 is on P+. Sad. Have a trial for another month.

Paramount+ has the episodes uncensored. Not sure about the other platforms or if that even matters to you.

My pony express cash system has the uncensored version. Not sure if they are the real actors, though

Watched the first episodes of gemstones last night. I didn’t remember the sister being as completely insane as that, but it was funny. Danny McBride stuff hits different, great comedic mind.

I want to try that but I was pretty turned off by how bad Vice Principals was.

I've been watching Mad Men for the first time and I'm really trying to like it but...man it's not very good. plays like a soap opera to me almost.just watched some ep in season 3 and it's another Don screws someone that isn't his wife! oh joy!

I'm gonna keep watching it (mostly because I watch it during work hours) but man, this **** did not need to be 7 seasons long

I had the same impression. Tried to power through the first season but kept falling asleep.

I liked Mad Men okay, but it was more for the period elements than the storytelling. Which isn't a good thing.

I liked it, it does take a bit for the characters to move beyond just being 60’s set pieces though.

yeah I agree with that. technically it is outstanding. immersive, great set design, acting, etc. but the lack of central narrative makes it very "bad idea, great execution"
