A friend of mine finished a 100 mile run this past weekend. I'm still working my way up to a century ride on a bike.

At what point do the vegetables start tasting good? I've replaced most of my daily snacking with veggies. Typically cucumbers, celery, broccoli, carrots. In that order. It goes, hate most, hate, sometimes okay but not really, obviously delicious. Damn getting old and needing to eat better.

Snack on something other than vegetables all day? That seems like not fun at all. Dip them in peanut butter? I dunno I snack on skippy peanut butter pretzel bites/string cheese/hanover sourdough pretzel bites/chocolate covered pretzels most of the time when I snack.

I think I'm older than you as well haha.

Celery is just a vehicle for me to consume peanut butter. Cucumbers, tomatoes are delicious in their own right...so are peppers...I don't like cold broc, but boiled it's very good...carrots are gross in virtually every state to me, I try to fork some down from time to time, but I've mostly resorted to mango/carrot juice...

Tajin and a squeeze of lime juice go a long way to making raw vegetables taste better.

Hummus is a good way to eat vegetables, but if you're not fond of veggies, hummus might be a no go.

Lots of pre-made varieties available in the produce or deli section of your local grocer. :fist:

Careful with some of the bigger premade varieties like Sabra. I'm guessing it's the oil that drives up the calorie count. You can make it at home with pretty minimum effort if you want complete control.

It looks like my dietary changes have leveled off (in terms of effect), so it will have to be more exercise (after Thanksgiving).
However, I'm pleased with 210 --> 193 in about seven weeks.

Recent assessment had by cholesterol, blood b pressure and risks for heart attack/stroke all going down from last Fall.

I have been plateau'd since October 11th. I'm bummed that I'm not 10-12 pounds farther along than I 'should be' but on the other hand I haven't gained any weight either so I'm actually handling 'maintenance' pretty well. ;)

I've been eating more and exercising less. Not complicated.

The subject is ketosis:

I need to start eating carbs, because I've started to freakin' reek, from my body burning fat instead of glucose.

Is there a medical reason you are doing keto in general? If not than I'd say it's not necessary unless you really want to do it.

I know some who have had their body react well to it but it's still no different than any other diet if you are trying to lose weight. Calories in vs calories out.

I could never do it cause I love carbs too much and need them for fuel working out.

Hopped on the scale this morning... 265.5

SOOOOOO close to the 20 lbs lost mark. So close. I should hit it by the weekend. Since hitting the gym 2 months ago, I've been on a pretty steady clip of 2 lbs a week (in water weight according to Godric).

Feels good. I'm hoping to no longer be obese by the end of January, and I should be able to hit that as my BMI would be 30 (the boarder between obese and overweight) should I get to 253.
