Amazingly I played bassoon, so ditto
We watched the finale of OMITB last night, and holy heck.

The "It's not what it looks like" thing is in the series trailer, and I was still surprised by it.

Great SNL last night. Sudeikis is so good. A little surprised there wasn’t a Ted Lasso sketch but really funny episode.

From reading the episode names for the first season of wheel of time, it appears book two is starting in the middle of the first season (6 episodes?). For how in depth these books, I was not expecting it to move that fast, not sure I like that.

You know how Nate from Ted Lasso is an dadhole?

He’s annoying in real life:

Curb was pretty good. Just one pretty tho.

Weird thing:
Very strange seeing Albert Brooks on the show, playing himself, when his brother played a character on it for so long. AB (lol) was good on it, but it felt odd. RIP Bob Einstein.

I just watched the first episode. Strikes me as a bad Battle Royale/Cube ripoff. Not only that but he dub was really annoying and had to change to subtitles

It’s a big production with an entertaining premise so I can see why it has mass appeal but it’s effectively fast food for television. No substance

yeah. I usually avoid Netflix stuff like the plague. Only Netflix produced show I enjoy is Black Murror but that’s almost a falsehood because the only episode after Netflix took over production that matches the heights of most of the pre-Netflix episodes is San Junipero

Man, I have watched a hell of a lot of Netflix stuff this past year, and have found some stuff that I really, really enjoy.

Dark
Tribes of Europa
The Rain
Kingdom
Shadow & Bone
Katla

Dark has some real issues, but man is it probably the most interesting and compelling show I’ve ever seen. It’s a real masterpiece.

Pretty good first episode, I couldn't quite put my finger on it, but something seemed a little off. It felt more scripted than normal or something, I don't know. Glad it's back.

Only Murders in the Building was fantastic. Martin, Short, and especially Gomez killed it. Can’t wait for the next season.

If you're watching with subtitles you might not be experiencing the same show. There some major omissions and errors of simplification that change entire characters. And you'll even see differences between subtitles and closed captioning.

Subtitling is always tricksy but they've done themselves bad here.

I heard the dub was even worse than the subtitling though, in terms of getting the translation right.

That looks pretty fun. I see it's an anime too? I've heard the name, but know nothing about this

I think the anime version is the original? I'm not a fan of anime in general, so I had no intention of checking it out.

Oh it's on Netflix, 26 episodes. My kids like anime and I enjoy watching if I have time, no idea if this would be for kids though

No real great standout sketches (unless you include Whats Up With That, and I do, because that will never not be funny), but no stinkers either. Solid throughout. The current absence of Kate means more stage time for others (Cecily has been everywhere, for example), and that's a good thing right now.

Early returns on the new season have certainly exceeded expectations thus far.
