Infinimist is great for all the ad clear, but is pretty doo doo for any bosses on higher tiers. I tried to 2 man it with a ball sorc but the increased health pool did us no favors because I don't think I was pulling enough weight.

My new gaming machine is now up and running. I went with the Phanteks Enthoo Pro 2 case, which is a big-ass full-tower case, but it's also dual system and has mounting points for a main ATX motherboard and an mini-ITX motherboard. That means I can put both of my computers (gaming machine and Linux box) in the same case. I set up the motherboard for my Linux box to use a separate external "brick" power supply. The rest of the specs are:
AMD Ryzen 7 7800 X3D
Deepcool LT720 water cooler
Asrock X670E Steel Legend motherboard
G.SKILL Trident Z5 Neo DDR5 32GB
Sapphire Nitro+ AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX
Samsung 990 PRO m.2 SSD 1TB
I went with Noctua fans for all of the case fans.

Very nice! You should be good for 10+ years with that setup. IIRC, you don't play a lot of bleeding edge graphics games.
Video Games
Not usually, and I tend to prefer RPGs and other similar games that aren't too graphically demanding. Plus I'm a cheapskate who usually waits until games are old enough to be significantly on sale when the various Steam sales come around, so I'm rarely playing stuff that's new. I just got around to playing Dishonored, for example, and that game came out in 2012.
The computer I replaced had a CPU/motherboard that was 11 years old and a video card that was 7 years old. I'm hoping this machine will have a similar longevity. I spent a bunch of money on it (the video card was $1k by itself), but amortize that over 7-10 years and it's not too bad.

It's expensive, but great quality and I love the cable management

Ooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh s**t. We got a Magnus in here.
I've watched numerous videos on that desk, did you get any of the accessories?

I bought the L shape, deskmat and I just ordered the dual monitor mount. I will post a pic when everything is finalized, but I am really loving the desk so far.

I was, but I didn't want a case with a glass side, all of the current HAF cases have windows, and my current HAF case wouldn't accommodate the water cooler I wanted to use. I don't want case windows and I don't care about LED lighting. I don't need my computer to be lit up like a freaking disco. Like the water cooler I bought has a LED lighted thingy that fits over the pump. I took it off and tossed it back in the box. And for the other stuff that came with lights, the first thing I did was turn them all off. I went with the Phanteks case both because it has the two-systems option and because it offered a version with steel sides and no stupid windows.

Shyster, can you take some pics of the computer? that sounds rad

It's not that exciting to see, but that was one of my goals.

Sweet, reminds me of the monolith from 2001

I'm about 6-7 hours into Hogwarts Legacy and I don't think I've even cracked the surface on the game yet. This is going to take me forever.

I'm enjoying it for sure. The ancient magic attacks in battle are freaking brutal. Love 'em.
Video Games
Oh yea, some of them are insane. I think my favorite version is against spiders - the ancient magic shrinks them down to the size of a house spider and you step on it.
Video Games
My old roommate's favorite thing to point out is that people will freak out if you use any Unforgivable curse, but not bat an eye when you turn someone into a spider and stomp them, slam them off the ground 4 times, or smite them with ancient lightning.
Video Games
I wouldn't either. Cause there is no defense against it lol.

Those that have Hogwarts legacy for Xbox, are there add ons you can purchase in game? Do I need to get an Xbox gift certificate with the game for my kid? Also, for those that have Xfinity, if you sign up for their rewards, you can get a free $25 Xbox gift certificate if you sign up before the 10th

I'm not sure if there are micro transactions now but neither my wife or I bought a damn thing other than the base game.
