Went to Blue Line prior to the game.

They had Founders Breakfast on tap, which was excellent. Also had a Chimay White (tripel) and Victory Winter Cheers. All for a fairly reasonable price, since happy hour went til 7.

I love Founders Breakfast Stout. It's one of my favorite beers.

Had a Alemsith IPA last night. It was very solid. I followed that up with a grapefruit sculpin. Previously I mentioned I didn't get the hype for the sculpin because I barely got any grapefruit out of it. I don't know if by drinking it after the Alesmith did something to my tastebuds, but it was full of grapefruit last night and it was excellent. I had a couple more and they all tasted so far from what I previously tasted. No idea how this happened, but I am changing my view on it.

Had this year's KBS last night. Not impress.

Seemed pretty flat, flavor-wise. Don't know if my taste buds were off or what...just not what I expect from this beer. at least I don't have to go chasing it around this year. I'll sit this one out.

yes it is. I'm waiting to hear back from a distributor to see if they can get a case. I've heard people talk about it being up there with KBS and BCBS...

nothing i've ever had is on the same plain as BCBS. it's a cut above everything. IMO.

Two weeks away from The Sour and the Funky. Can't wait. They are going to have all of the Draai Laag sours, which is great since I missed out on the bottles.

just got a case of the SMS for $70. For $50 less than KBS, I'm certainly willing to give it a shot (will also be getting KBS too though)

Completely forgot you could buy 12 packs at distributors now (we are so blessed). Picked up a Stone Variety Pack...Ruination IPA, Arrogant Bastard, Cali-Belgique (a Belgian IPA, excited to try this one), and Delicious IPA (their new one).

Love the Cali-belguique. Haven't had the delicious ipa.

The ruination is still the same one right now right? I know they're changing it up

Last weekend I went to a tasting and got to try a bunch of rye and barrel aged beers. The two standouts were Laughing dog Dogfather Barrel Aged Imperial Stout that the owner had a keg of from 2013 and Terrapin Mosaic Red Rye IPA. The Dogfather was really interesting and would be a good beer to have one or two of. I found myself coming back to the Terrapin throughout the day though. Really liked that one.

I'm assuming the rye and the barrel aged were separate categories? I love rye beers. There's a certain dirty, mucky, earthy, spicy flavor to them. They are a nice break from time to time from the citrus, floral IPA regular line-up. Speaking of which, I would think that Rye of the Tiger should be coming out from Great Lakes soon.
