Wed be 7-1 with him
Honest question: Clearly they were missing a piece, even if the drfense was starting to look the part. But do they feel the same urgency to shore things up with the Minkah trade if Ben is healthy? Because I do not. The last time the Steelers traded their 1st round pick was before the first moon landing.

Definitely don’t think they pull the trigger on that trade.

That's a really good question.

My first thought was no way. They were 'close enough' with Ben at QB that they wouldn't want to risk the pick.

My second thought is...I really think that this is the one player at the one position that they identified that they wanted and needed. Not just a young stud FS, but Minkah in particular. With Ben, that doesn't change.

So, in summation, maybe?

I dont think losing Ben and getting minkah were related in any way whatsoever.

Also I know this isn't a popular sentiment around here but Tomlin deserves some credit this season. It's been ba nice coaching job

I could see the Steelers being slight dogs in Cleveland Thursday but other than that they should be favored the rest of the way until week 17 @ Baltimore. Should be fun

One of the big knocks on Tomlin as a practice/mid-week coach is that as he got more established he began deferring way too much to superstar egos. The dynamic with Ben is obviously quite different for now, and AB and L'VB are memories. And we are seeing some of Tomlin's best coaching. That's an interesting correlation imo.

On that scoop and score from Fitzpatrick yesterday, dude was talking it up with the fans and high fiving them in the end zone. He is so legitimately overjoyed to be out of Miami, you can see it every week.

The look on Tomlin's face after they converted the fourth down in their own territory was priceless.

Good win yesterday. Feels like the Kordell days where we have a great defense and no offense.

I don’t care that that fourth down play was successful, it was a bad decision

I actually thought so too, considering the score and field position. It was a pretty sizeable risk.

Same. Thought for sure they were doing the old draw them offside move. With Tomlin's reaction, you have to wonder if that was the play he called and Mason ignored it/misunderstood it.

Defense was playing lights out, and we're already fighting for a wild card spot. What do we have to lose? I was good with it.

Yeah. No doubt it was a huge risk, but that move ended up being a large reason why they won the game. They killed a ton of clock and forced the Rams to need a TD to win rather than the FG. Of course, had they not converted, I'd be calling for Tomlin's head... again.

That’s my argument!

Punt to ball to Geoff and St Louis and let Minkah pick it off again

They tried to end it yesterday and Diontae Johnson fumbled. I guess that's why you have Switzer. The devil you know. It is laughable that he gets literally nothing though.

Goff's 1.86 fantasy points was enough to get me a win by .24 of a point, though. So thanks, Geoff.

What a game really. Tomlin deserves tons of credit. Obviously outcoached them at times and won the huge 4th down gamble

Washington better never do that again. He even flashed the ball to the pursuer 2 strides before losing it. Gotta crack down on skill position ball protection.

Even with the fumble on the punt return im still for anyone but switzer on any punts from behind the 50 and all kickoffs

Man the defense has made this season special. Dominant. Still got a sour taste losing tuitt. Been so hard keeping him and heyward out there and at their best. The D is peaking though.

Rudolph may be able to help win a playoff game.

Again Tomlin related... that stat graphic

Best win pct November-January since 2014

Steelers .727
Patriots .714
Chiefs .705
Seahawks .696

And great primetime numbers im certain. Big players but he's a big game coach too. Really showing something this year minus Ben. They'd be lost without the D but still

Finally, Conner was missed.

Also surprised at so few wr screens especially to juju. I hate them generally but other than the pick 6 risk they seem like an easy way to get a receiver a touch. I'd like to see juju get more motion shuffle passes or something. Any play by him is a spark
