I only knew about it because they advertised it on DVE this morning, and I haven't listened to DVE in a few weeks. Funny how that works.

My ride to work is only 15 minutes so I hear about 5 minutes of the morning show then the rest is commercials.

Thinking about seeing if I can fit Bill Burr at the Benedum into my schedule.
I'm pissed that I'm gonna miss this. Almost thought about eating my flight to Florida and going to see Burr instead, although I'm sure my friends who reworked their schedule so I could visit midweek would not be happy.

Burr delivered. It wasn't a completely polished set but it was funny af.

It was as if he took my grievances list and went right down one by one.

He started by destroying Mr. Rogers and had time to take down Thank You For Your Service. So great.

For Easter, my wife got us tickets to go see the traveling Steve Martin/Martin Short show (a sure sign I'm getting old  ). I am looking forward to it--Steve Martin is traveling with his bluegrass band so they will be playing as well. Should be a fun little night, and the bonus is that it's at the American Music Theatre, which is about 15 minutes from my house.

That will be awesome! Terrific musicians and music with the steep canyon rangers

Thanks, I will definitely bring back a review. It's coming up next Friday. I always forget Steve Martin is considered one of the best stand up comics of all time--I enjoy watching his bits from the '70s on the Youtube.

I'm guessing there aren't any unofficial copies on youtube? Still upset that I missed that show.

Was "thank you for your service" the thing where he said all heroes aren't the same that caused somebody to get pissed off?

Yeah, the guys working on the trucks in the rear probably aren't the same level of hero as the divers setting explosives underwater at night, etc.

They are both fantastic imo. Let me know if Steve Martin tells the Eric Clapton joke.

Is it this one, what is the difference between a baby and a bag of cocaine?
Clapton wouldn't let a bag of cocaine fall out of a window.

Apparently Billy Redface played in the Mario fantasy camp a few years ago.

I briefly mentioned it on Friday, but I had an absolute blast seeing Steve Martin/Martin Short in Lancaster. It was a two hour show (no intermissions), and chock-full of what makes both of those guys great. I can't believe Short is 68...he was bouncing around the stage like he did 30 years ago and is just a natural entertainer/comedian. Steve Martin was awesome as well, and it was nice seeing he and his bluegrass band live. He is one hell of a picker.

I believe they are going to be producing a version of that show for Netflix release, with Lorne Michaels executive producing. Would definitely recommend catching it.

We missed it for some reason when it came through Pittsburgh. I think my wife hadn't quite moved back yet. A Netflix version would be a nice consolation.

We just watched his episode of Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee. Apparently he is also an aspiring helicopter pilot. Guy gets around.

His bit about how he screwed up training his dog is one of my favorite comedy routines of the last 15 years.

Henry Rollins is doing a show next month at the Carnegie Lecture Hall. $25 isn't a bad deal.
