So you’re saying that targeting Muslims was arbitrary, or that was certainly his main directive, and the other stuff is him just f’ing around?It is apparent to me that this guy is just trying to foster as much division and hatred as he possibly can. One of the things he advocated for was the US abolishing 1A and 2A. He also gave a shoutout to Pewdiepie at the end. He also self-identifies as a "Communist" and "eco-fascist". The shooter previously posted images on social media of weapons inscribed with the names of past military leaders and perpetrators of mass shootings, although it is unclear as of yet if he used those weapons in the attack(s). His callout of the 2nd Amendment was not because he supported its abolition, but because he hoped the ongoing gun debate would result in the 'Balkanization' of the US and be a flash point for a second civil war.

I think Islam is a legitimate global threat. I think the religion itself is violent and hideous. It doesn’t seem like a big mystery what happened here. Nor does it seem usual that Shaf in particular is censoring himself. So I don’t understand his post.

No one is surprised or threatened by what happens in Africa. I’m sure that alone de-humanizes the people involved in those tragedies to an extent. And that’s sad. I’m also not sure what my reaction is supposed to be, aside from empathy.
