The White House is looking for ways to remove an enemy of Turkish President Recep Erdogan from the U.S. in order to placate Turkey over the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, according to two senior U.S. officials and two other people briefed on the requests.

Trump administration officials last month asked federal law enforcement agencies to examine legal ways of removing exiled Turkish cleric Fethullah Gulen in an attempt to persuade Erdogan to ease pressure on the Saudi government, the four sources said.

"At first there were eye rolls, but once they realized it was a serious request, the career guys were furious," said a senior U.S. official involved in the process.

Amazon will split its new headquarters, dubbed HQ2, between two cities, a source tells the Wall Street Journal.

The new report follows a pair of weekend updates naming Crystal City, Va., and other cities as front runners in the tightening race for Amazon's second headquarters. It's been more than a year since the company issued a call for proposals.

Amazon originally said it would invest $5 billion and employ 50,000 workers in the winning area. It whittled down an initial list of 238 cities and metropolitan regions, naming 20 finalists in January. The selection process has seen an increasing number of leaks in recent weeks, as Amazon nears a decision.

And neither will be in Pittsburgh.

So somebody is going to have to explain this to me.
The fixing of signatures isn't illegal.
The Dems changed the date to 11/8 instead of 11/5.

The article says it's because the Dems are trying to get a Judge to allow the 11/8 date. So basically, it's assumed this was done so that more people might be able to fix their votes...but a side effect would be that if the Judge goes with the 11/5 date, a bunch of votes may not get counted because people thought they had another three days to get the form in.

The thing that seems ridiculous about this to me is: If my mail-in ballot didn't arrive until 11/5 (because it didn't have to be any earlier) I'd have no chance to "Cure" my vote. What is even the mechanism to learn that you're vote didn't count in the first place?

I think FL law is that the ballot cure affidavit has to be filed by COB the day before the election.

With my superficial understanding of this I'm fine with it since they're allegedly being transparent. They made new forms with a later date and are asking a judge to allow cured ballots with that form. If they were collecting the ballots and slipping them in without approval then yeah, that's outrageous.

I'd rule them unusable if I were the judge, but that's just on common sense and not after a review of the law.

I'd like to know on what grounds they were planning on basing the date change. As CBear noted, that might trigger an automatic disqualification of all affected ballots. That seems like a really stupid plan.

HOLD UP. Broward just said they were actually 2 minutes late so their first total will count, *not* the recount. Also the discrepancy of 2,040 votes was due to a "comingling of ballots," said Joseph D'Alessandro
