I hope it’s better than Game Pass and forced Microsoft to make that even better.

I’m not even sure what else MS can do short of lowering the price permanently. GamePass is already the best value on all of gaming.

Lower price would be nice. Expand cloud gaming to include every game on game pass. And keep adding AAA games to the library including more day ones. But yeah it’s already a great value. Still competition will only help.

I started to play Guardians of the Galaxy last night. After 20 minutes all I did was watch cut scenes and walk around a bedroom. It reminded me why I don’t typically play single player games.

Not a fan of the movie/game hybrids, but I heard a lot of good things about that game. A lot of people were surprised at Square's Avengers debacle.

Guardians of the Galaxy is a great game. If you don't like single player stuff won't be your thing, but it is the kind of game I like alot.

Yeah I heard good things too and I was excited to try it out but I just don’t see the appeal of watching a 2 minute cut scene, walking a few feet before triggering another 2 minute cut scene. Then you finally sit in the captains chair of the ship and it seems like you’re gonna actually do something, it’s just “Hit Y to go” so I hit Y and it’s a 3 minute cut scene. I don’t get it.

It's a story driven game. It's what single player games are these days. They setup a story at the beginning.

The cutscenes become less after start of the game and I think you can skip them anyways if you want.

I get it though. I don't get multiplayer games and online stuff. I never play those and don't understand the appeal but others like them.

Different strokes.

Yeah if you’re into that no judgment. I just don’t have the patience for that. It’s much too passive of an experience. If I’m going to be watching something, I’ll pop in a movie or TV show. I like playing a game and getting straight into action.

It's ready to get distracted from the main quest in HZD. I keep going off in search of Longnecks and Cauldrons.

I encountered my first Thunderjaw yesterday.

************ me.

Now I'm dealing with these raptor-type things that have Predator/yautja mirror invisible armor. Wtf.

Replacement Elite 2 controller has a funky back button. Still works most of the time, but the action is weird. Gonna RMA this one, too. Bought a second Elite 2 at Best Buy (price matched MS again) so that I'm never without a controller. Sucks, but these controllers are fantastic.

Still crap compared to game pass...this little blurb says it all. Sony needs to be better.

"Sony has made clear that first-party exclusives will not be added to the service at launch for any tier, unlike Xbox Game Pass."

Oh I agree, I can't believe it took them this long to figure out how to start competing with Xbox dating back to last gen. Sony's online experience is the piece lacking the most, imo.

Sony is still kicking Microsoft's ass and probably sees no need to compete with Game Pass. They're still selling more consoles despite being damn near impossible to buy and I'm assuming their software sales are solid. Let's be real, as great as Game Pass is, Microsoft developed it and became so consumer friendly in the Xbox One/Series era because they had to. Sony was destroying them and Microsoft killed their reputation with the Xbone launch.

I mean Sony's thought process is probably like... we know we are the market leader and we're last generation too...so let's do some half baked thing cause it really won't hurt us and it will look like we care.

It's just annoying because they could do a game pass type thing if they wanted to. They just don't.

Right, I've been on the Sony bandwagon for years because of their tech for the most part - but this part of the deal infuriates me, because if I could have Live on PS, that'd be the best of both worlds.

Not really too surprising imo. Microsoft is willing to give those away for a couple bucks a month because they are fine with losing money on their games because they make a boatload of money elsewhere and need a gimmick to keep up with Sony.

I’ve been enjoying PCMR. Finally found a game, tarkov, that both myself and my sons enjoy for some bonding time.
