Why are 90% of people that snap their gum women?

Is it because women are just more annoying in general so they do it? Or are there other reasons.

My last boss used to do that with that our CEO, his boss. So every time I got a call from him he was complaining about her and I had to hear that pronunciation regularly. Drove me nuts.
