Congrats! I think

That reminds me of a friend of mine. Almost the same story. A dozen years of failed attempts, then twins with the help of an artificial procedure. The doctor told them that they call him “the kick starter” because couples typically could get pregnant on their own after he helped them with their first. They didn’t believe him, so now they have three kids in the same birth year. Twins in January. And third in December.
you develop a weird ring of contacts through infertility treatments and we know at least 4 other families that are in almost the exact same situation - 2 of them conceived twins naturally after their fertility treatments. we probably should have expected it but the PTSD (as my wife calls it) numbs your brain to think it can actually happen

Congrats LITT.

Lil mac had his second oral challenge for a dairy allergy today. Made it to 10ml of milk and refused the rest. Got worked up and a bit hive-y. So they stopped and asked us to go get blood work. Hoping for the best and he's grown out of it but at this point the kid doesn't even like cows milk

My daughter was having a rough morning, and decided to turn her camera off when the teacher was speaking with her about it.

Our school district will be voting later this month to offer a hybrid model for student, which I believe is 2 days in person (not all student on the same 2 days), one asynchronous learning day, and 2 synchronous days. We have the option of remaining 100% virtual if we choose to. I’ll wait to hear about the plan, but I’m still on the side of 100% virtual.

The HS and middle school in our district just shut down for a week due to at least two confirmed cases.

Two? Wow. Our high school had two a couple days ago and four this week, and as far as I know, there’s no plan to close.

Yeah, our district has had a dozen plus cases since reopening and has no intention of closing. Maybe for an ice storm or something, but not for COVID.

North Allegheny sends messages to quarantine if someone tests positives, they seem to be full steam ahead.

I was kind of surprised too.

Show and tell with my daughter's class today went well.

Teacher: What can you tell us about your dad?
Mini NTP: He says a lot of bad words!

Was out in the garage working tonight and my wife came out and said lil mac was asking for me.

Went in and he said "I hold your hand daddy" and we laid there as he fell asleep.

I was watching the end of Ghostbusters on tv with my little guy (19 months) the other day. He saw the gatekeeper and keymaster dogs and was completely taken with them. The rest of the day he kept running around the house yelling BIG DOGS!!

I used to pick up (and drop off) my kids to their daycare every day, another product of the ridiculously early hour that public schools make teachers (and children) work and attend school - my wife would be at work at 6:45 or so. But I digress.

My favorite part of each day was when they would come running over to give me a hug and tell me they missed me. I wish I had thought to record it for posterity.

Now when I pick them up after middle and high school, I barely get a grunt of acknowledgment before they start whinging about what we’re having for dinner...

So enjoy it, mac.

Yeah I've been doing daycare drop-off since the pandemic started (and daycare reopened).

The last month or so I've also been doing pickup. (long story... My wife wanted a peloton.. We settled on a planet fitness membership and she just goes after work now )

I agree. He comes darting out wanting to show me whatever he did that day, even if it's just his 'my day' sheet. Then the ride home we discuss what he had for lunch, what shirt were wearing tomorrow, etc.

Who said twos are terrible?

My daughter turns 7 in a few weeks and she still likes to snuggle with her dad sometimes when she goes to sleep at night, or will ask me to come lay with her. I'm cherishing every minute of it.

Potty training day 1: a number 1 accident inside, a number 2 accident outside, a number 1 accident outside. Much better than expected.

It’s a process, you’ll get there. How’s potty training going with the little one?

Are you doing the 3 day method c2i? So far we’re 2/2 in training that way, with very little accidents afterwards.
