In the wake of the Chicago looting/rioting:
https://thefederalist.com/2020/08/19/wh ... parations/
There's a lot more to unpack here, but it kind of goes back to what some of us have been saying regarding the radicalism of Black Lives Matter, and how you can't just extricate it from the movement. When its leaders in major cities are basically approving of looting as an expression of social justice, how do you negotiate with that? After widespread looting in the city as part of ongoing civil unrest accompanied by a crime wave, on Aug. 11 local Black Lives Matter leader Ariel Atkins openly defended looting as “reparations,” according to local outlets.
After 100 looters were arrested and 13 police officers injured by mobs on a protest-enabled crime spree, she said this: “I don’t care if somebody decides to loot a Gucci’s or a Macy’s or a Nike because that makes sure that that person eats. That makes sure that that person has clothes. That’s a reparation,” Atkins said. “Anything they want to take, take it, because these businesses have insurance.”Pulley also implied that rampant property crimes decimating Democrat-run cities like Chicago during ongoing summer protests are not the fault of those committing them, but the fault of voters and elected officials who don’t do what she wants: “The refusal to enact any meaningful change will mean that we will have continued instances like this…We will continue to have unrest, intercommunal violence and these things until the root causes are resolved.”

I think this is where it came from - employee training slides;Employees cannot wear MAGA hats or other political gear when on the job. They can, however, wear clothes in support of BLM. So, that's where the brouhaha is coming from.In factories? In stores? In blimps? It means MAGA hats are banned.
Sidenote, Biden needs a hat. Somebody get Biden a hat with a slogan on it please.

B) wouldn't be surprised if that was a Trump news plant just so he can pretend he was right about something.

If only the US had some sort of warning that there was a deadly pandemic spreading across the globe, Trump definitely would have acted!

Everyone knows (or should) that China tried to cover this up. But there's no excuse for the rest of the world being caught flat-footed. I've mentioned it before, but there was tons of chatter on reddit conspiracy groups about some strange virus in China causing people to drop dead and this was in very, very early January. If that kind of info is making it to the interwebs, any government worth its paycheck must have known what was potentially coming.

But I want all the blame on Jina.

The problem was it was already everywhere by the time anyone even really knew or could take sufficient action. If only the US had some sort of warning that there was a deadly pandemic spreading across the globe, Trump definitely would have acted!

Man, he should have tried to implement a ban on travel from China! Democrats totally wouldn't have called him xenophobic!!If only the US had some sort of warning that there was a deadly pandemic spreading across the globe, Trump definitely would have acted!

At the point of the China travel ban, it was already spreading in Europe, but they were not banning travel from there.
So it was pretty easy to call xenophobia on it.

If five or so states didn’t **** themselves at the beginning, then we would have almost 40-50k less deaths right now just in those states. There is one state that can be linked to 70% of the spread in the USA too.If only the US had some sort of warning that there was a deadly pandemic spreading across the globe, Trump definitely would have acted!

I don’t really blame Trump or anyone for the shitstorm that occurred in March and April.
But I do blame him on the shitshow that is currently happening almost 7 months later. Testing still sucks despite whatever stats are put out there. We have capability to have rapid testing with results within 24 hours but almost no capacity to make it available for most of the country. And that’s on Trump and the federal government.

I think it's cool though, that folks are still up for litigating Trump's response to the virus. It's almost like people implanting themselves into the decision making seat, with their understanding of the virus and what sort of response options were being tee'd up to Trump to protect the country.
Yeah, it would have been a tough call to shut down activity in February or March, based on what WE knew. Again, just the clear consequence of electing an absolute a genuinely, incorrigible jackass to be president.

Convenient that you don’t want to blame anyone from the beginning...I don’t really blame Trump or anyone for the shitstorm that occurred in March and April.

If only there were some governing body above the states, with vast resources and expertise that could have helped! If five or so states didn’t **** themselves at the beginning, then we would have almost 40-50k less deaths right now just in those states. Yea it makes sense to blame the people that were doing things on the fly compared to someone that has 6 months of experience. But be youConvenient that you don’t want to blame anyone from the beginning...I don’t really blame Trump or anyone for the shitstorm that occurred in March and April.

You mean the federal government that opened up field hospitals and had medical ships deployed and ready within two weeks that were never used by those states? If only there were some governing body above the states, with vast resources and expertise that could have helped! If five or so states didn’t **** themselves at the beginning, then we would have almost 40-50k less deaths right now just in those states. When has the playbook for dealing with a deadly virus been to not give a **** about how you treat your nursing home population?Yea it makes sense to blame the people that were doing things on the fly compared to someone that has 6 months of experience.
