The D's need to listen to Nancy.
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles ... rong-track
Speaker Nancy Pelosi is issuing a pointed message to Democrats running for president in 2020: Those liberal ideas that fire up the party’s base are a big loser when it comes to beating President Donald Trump.

Proposals pushed by Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders like Medicare for All and a wealth tax play well in liberal enclaves like her own district in San Francisco but won’t sell in the Midwestern states that sent Trump to the White House in 2016, she said.

“What works in San Francisco does not necessarily work in Michigan,” Pelosi said at a roundtable of Bloomberg News reporters and editors on Friday. “What works in Michigan works in San Francisco — talking about workers’ rights and sharing prosperity.”

“Remember November,” she said. “You must win the Electoral College.”

She's a fake who thought Bernie's platform sounded good, but doesn't understand why.

Many of us wear masks on Halloween for fun. But what about a world in which we have to wear a mask every single day to protect our privacy from the government’s oppressive eye?

Face recognition surveillance technology has already made that frightening world a reality in Hong Kong, and it’s quickly becoming a scary possibility in the United States.

The FBI is currently collecting data about our faces, irises, walking patterns, and voices, permitting the government to pervasively identify, track, and monitor us. The agency can match or request a match of our faces against at least 640 million images of adults living in the U.S. And it is reportedly piloting Amazon’s flawed face recognition surveillance technology.

We need a big city in the states to be the test bed for a social credit system. The more government the better!

Ok second thought, just start with Lebron and his family/friends since he was so quick to wag his finger at Morey.

I’ve seen lots of folks who cover despots seeming to be ringing the alarm bells more around trump. Richard Engel said something a week or so ago that was most alarming.

Pretty simple calculation. Corrupt autocrat > social welfare state.

If we do somehow come out of this with the three branches of government intact. I hope they move the doj out of the executive branch. Barr isn’t the first hack attorney general. But trump is the first president with publicly explicit intent to corrupt the department.

I would argue it is pathologically insane to argue bad things won’t happen because One trusts that bad things won’t happen. I think it’s intertwined with some assumptions about the divine destiny of the United States. I have no weird Roman Empire analogies, just that there is nothing inherent with the US that would steer us away from transition to a dictator.

Just because one has the failure to imagine a system different than the present does not empower people to demean those that do.

I think it’s pathologically insane to believe that Donald trump is steering us closer to a dictatorship.
