It's like when Dante's Peak and Volcano came out at the same time. ;)
Volcano was filmed in my old neighborhood. The eruption was across the street from my first workplace in LA, and they blocked the lava flow at Wilshire/Fairfax, which was basically the end of the block where I lived for 6 years.

Speaking of movies released at roughly the same time and are oft-confused for one another, I confused Mercury Rising and Fifth Element for a long time.

A short time before he died, Robin Williams sat for an interview for the David Steinberg show "Inside Comedy". In it, he talked about the time he had aortic heart valve replacement surgery at Cleveland Clinic. He said that when he initially came to after surgery, he was hugely disoriented, probably moreso than the average patient. A nurse tried to comfort him and give him ease and said, "It's alright Mr Williams, you're in Cleveland." And, rather confused, he said, "..................................... Why?"

That's kind of how I reacted to this comment.

Five Elements Ninjas is streaming on Amazon. What an amazing funky 80s kung fu ninja flick. I loved it. My only complaint is amazon seems to only have the english dub for the language and it's borderline MST3000 hilarious which really makes for an interesting watch. You have this incredibly choreographed weapon filled 80s gory movie (one guy trips over his intestines hanging out from a sword slash and falls over for the other guy to finally kill him) and then basically me and my buddies making fun of the movie in funny voices for the language. Highly recommended!

Direct to Disney+ so this probably won't receive the same fan outrage as other live action remakes but good lord this looks creepy.

Is that really outrage, though? I'm not a fan of most of these remakes, but I wouldn't say that I'm outraged.

Well saying it won't receive the same amount of "not a fan of this" doesn't really have the same ring to it.

Is that really outrage, though? I'm not a fan of most of these remakes and I hope the dogs die horribly from food poisoning, but I wouldn't say that I'm outraged.

On a completely unrelated note, that movie looks like trash. ;)

We should make a list of Disney originals and their remakes, scoring them from 1-10.

We’re also hearing that Nathan Fillion will be starring in James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad at Warner Bros.

Watched Karate Kid with the fam. Man, those Cobra Kai really are jerks, but it's not like Daniel doesn't provoke them (good for him). One thing I noticed at the end is when Mater Kreese tells Bobby he wants Dan out of commission and Bobby is reluctant, you think, hey maybe this kid has some good in him, but literally the scene after that when Johnny hurt him, he's in the background jumping up and down cheering for him getting hurt. hmmmm. Also, I don't know if there is a movie that ends as sudden as this. Crane Kick, shot of Miyagi being like F yeah and cue Moment of Truth music. Love it. What a movie.

The "your the best around" music montage during the karate tournament is still one of my favorite musical/movie combos in any movie ever.
