So there's that then.
At least I directed it towards those people and not you.

I think Gremlins is more of a Christmas movie than Die Hard (not that I'm arguing Die Hard's Christmas credentials).

Too bad Iron Man 3 didn't squeeze a tiny bit more Christmas into it.
I'm surprised we haven't hit a period where we start getting backlash for people who watch die hard at Christmas, it seems like that's a thing people should be doing by now. Maybe all their anger is tied up in last jedi?

I think it's completely appropriate to refer to frozen people as those people.

It's normal to switch over to the last boy scout after die hard 3 and pretend that's the next one.

That’s impressive!

I had forgotten about Sicario, and finally got around to watching it yesterday (it’s on Amazon Prime btw). Very well done, but Emily Blunt’s character was a bit whiny and Girl Scout-ish for my taste.

I also watched the Brad Pitt-Marion Cotillard WWII spy movie Allied. It was well made and entertaining, but predictable. More Marion Cotillard in all things please.

Those were the ones sponsored by the retail association. They never picked up as much traction on tv. You had to send away for them with mall food court receipts.

big ass list of movies
so you're still in the "collect everything because hard drives are cheap and why not" game? since kids, i got away from this. i realized there's no chance i'll watch movies i don't explicitly want to watch, and it will be this way for another 10-15 years. it's liberating, but i do miss geeking out over my library

Carol for Another Christmas is just strange all the way around. It was the first of several made for tv movies sponsored by the United Nations for the purpose of making Americans think it wasn't worthless (this was made in 1964, not 2017).

At that time you wouldn't typically find Hollywood stars doing television, but all these famous actors waived their usual salaries to appear in it - director Joe Mankewicz, Sterling Hayden, Robert Shaw, Peter Sellers. It was the story of a Christmas Carol, but instead of being a ruthless lender Sterling Hayden is a father still grieving his son's WW2 death and arguing about how we should have no part of the UN. Three ghosts visit to show him all the good the UN was doing in the world, and he wakes up no longer an isolationist.

I just added another 4TB. I'm up to 20TB + 4TB parity drive on the unRAID :face:

I do enjoy setting up all the artwork, writing my own synopsis and ratings, and creating the CinemaVision pre-show. I guess it's just my weird hobby.

I've seen both sides of this with books. I kept every book I could get my hands on up until I started moving in the military every few years. There came a day where I said enough and pared my collection down to stuff I actually read. Threw out a a lot of old Algebra textbooks.

Die Hard 4 is watchable but definitely removes John McClane from what reality existed in Die Hard and With A Vengeance. Die Harder and what 5 is called don't exist.
