Being the degenerate gambler I am, looking at some betting odds.

Pitt Regular Season Wins

Over 7: +120
Under 7: -150

Penn State

Over 9 1/2: -135 (gulp)
Under 9 1/2: +105

Alabama

Over 10 1/2: -170
Under 10 1/2: +140

Heisman Odds: Darnold is the favorite going away at +350, Trace McSorley +2000

Champion Odds (in descending order): Bama, OSU, USC, FSU, Oklahoma, Auburn, Michigan, LSU/Penn State, Clemson

You can chalk it to my bias as a Pitt fan, but 9.5 is a big number particularly given they're juicin you for the right to play it

I don't disagree. With their talent they should surpass that number, but no way would I put money on it.

Looking at their schedule, if they get through Pitt, @iowa, and Michigan undefeated heading into that OSU game, they get to ten or more almost guaranteed even if they lose to tOSU (maybe you can lose to Nebraska at home or MD on the road but certainly ups will be favored in both). I have no clue if Iowa is supposed to be good this year but it's probably a road game at night and Iowa is a tough out even when they're mediocre and the ups-Iowa series has a history of hilarious (or tragic, depending on what side you're on) events and results.

As usual Vegas has set a painful number

Source of the post @Kaiser v. @mikey in Piscataway, Friday Sept 1 at 8PM

2016 Playoff semi-finalist beats 2016 worst P5 team again this year, though perhaps its a bit closer than last year's 48-13 drubbing in Washington. Let's say 38-14, because mikey deserves better (Ed. Note: mikey does not deserve better).

Just when I thought Rutgers games couldn't get any better...now I have a chance to bathe with my fellow alums...

(Ed. Note: A properly enforced ratio would help to change my mind about the grossness of this)

This paragraph in that link is brutal:

"Rutgers is probably doing this as a way to keep fans happy while the football team probably gets embarrassed again. When the Huskies and Scarlet Knights played last year, Washington won the 48-13."

And I don't think that ratio will be what you're looking for hahah

Do you make it up there for games these days?

Sure do. Though, it's been much more sparingly. Even after I left school, I still went to every home game for a couple of years - I can't imagine missing more than 3 or 4 home games from 2005 to...2013-ish, maybe. I coach collegiate ice hockey now, so needless to say, there's a lot of overlapping weekends and it costs me RU games in the process. I was at one last year I think...we have an even heavier ice schedule this year, so I don't know how that will shake out...

And yeah, that water is going instantly turn brown, then green, then back to brown...c2i you're a sciencemalogist, right? You ought to stake it out, you could probably find a new strain of an STD and name it after yourself...assuming that's how science works...

And woah, that's crazy...the RU@PSU game falls on one of the very few open weekends I have from September thru December. Hmm...though, I gotta assume they're going to flex us to a showcase spot...coming off of a big road win in Ann Arbor, we're definitely gonna be top 10...not this noon bull****...

I shouldn't be surprised, but we have a local program which airs a 30 minute version of the HS game of the week. :?

I've found it; the hottest take of the CFB season court EY of the Dallas Morning News and no games have even been played yet:

You had me until sub-Zeiseian. Easy there pal. He complained that the Pirates didn't put a pitcher in the game last night that is currently on the DL.

I am quite happy to have the college football back. Easily my favorite sporting activity.
