Chances that these were already criminals that did this with an illegal gun are probably extremely high. So no most likely not.

You can't tell the unintended consequences on the surface. Is the person carrying the firearm heavily trained? Accurate? Level headed?

The deterrent factor is the same across the board. It's the unknown. Most criminals are cowards who are too afraid to do something in a place that would be met with any resistance.

Criminal enterprise offenders who are profit motivated and expecting to come out on the other end of the act alive and in a position to enjoy the fruits of their labors, sure. Someone who's motivated by making a statement and going out in a blaze of glory? Not so much.

I'll take that bet. Mass shooters are the only subset of gun offender who are far more likely than not to be legally in possession of the firearm used in the act. In fact, given the tactics employed I wouldn't be surprised if they are ex-military.

If we are going to start throwing out conspiracy theories let's add, Maybe it was the Obama Administration trying to further their gun control agenda by staging it in the most gun-friendly state in the union.

Awful news coming out of Dallas. Not what I wanted to wake up to. Regardless of the immediate snarky comments implying the cops had it coming in here, these were people with families and loved ones. Gonna take a long time for the dust to settle.

After the police shootings the last couple of days, I'd venture to guess that more people than ever were critical of police and supportive of reforms,and sympathetic towards BLM.

That has most certainly changed now. This will set their cause back years, with irrevocable damage. Just brain dead stupidity.
