slappy seems to be all about denying our right to eat pickeled cucumbers.
Which are only made or consumed by white people, apparently.

Would you like me to post a 30-minute documentary on Japanese pickles?

Edit: I'm gonna do so anyway.

Thus place is going to be a powder keg (which could probably be used a pickeling vessel) if the Pens get knocked out.

What? I don't not like them because they are wonderful. Seems pretty straightforward to me.

And I like Shyster's post detailing the many wonderful ways the Japanese in particular go about pickling almost everything. As Gaucho alluded, I don't want to contemplate a world without pickles. Currently in my fridge, I have pickled red onions, pickled fennel, and pickled mustard seeds (in addition to a jar of bread and butter cuke pickles). Pickled things are teh best.

If you get good ones, they are very good. However, 8 out of 10 times, you get mushy, undercooked versions and they are terribad.

So, I answered Meh.

One of my early dates with Mrs Tif was to a Cajun place in Hermosa Beach, and they had complimentary pickled okra in jars on the tables. Good times.
