Saw a couple interesting factoids about the quality of the Superb Owl teams. Someone posted in here that if the Chiefs win they will have beaten so many of the top offense and defenses. But I also saw that in dispatching the Lions, between regular season and playoffs the 9ers have beaten all of the NFC playoff teams (except themselves, of course).

What is interesting to me about that 9ers stat is it was also accomplished by the '85 Bears. I don't know how many other teams have hit for the cycle in their conference like that (I'm sure some team has done it without even winning a championship) But it is something that's always been a differentiator my mind between that Bears team and the '00 Ravens; the Baltimore squad didn't have that kind of record (in part because I don't think BAL played every AFC playoff team that year).

I fee like that's more of a scheduling fluke, especially with the increased number of Wild Card teams. I also remember a year when the Chiefs didn't make the playoffs and beat all four teams playing on Conference Championship weekend.
This year, the Chiefs for instance will have beaten every AFC playoff team they played, and they had a very mediocre regular season. The 2019 Chiefs beat all AFC playoff teams except the Bills who lost in the wildcard, and whom the Chiefs didn't play. It's impressive by the 9ers to beat that many good teams, but the number of times its happened is probably more due to scheduling opportunities than historic team dominance/performance.

I definitely agree. It's just an interesting quirk that both teams coming into the final game have shown a track record of beating good teams to get where they are, and not just stringing together a good couple of games in January.

What a psycho. Yeah, Taylor Swift just came out if nowhere and NFL tight ends such as Gronk are never well known.

Just a baffling a+b=c

People also probably don’t know that kelce was on a showtime tv show with john c o’Reilly and Tim heidecker, and he hosted snl. So his elevation to mass media personality predates this relationship.

And everything swift does garners mass attention, also predates this, seemingly contrived relationship.

But it just sounds insane to try and frame this as some political conspiracy.

It makes perfect sense. Who has the most to gain from a football player having a straight, white, traditional relationship with a country music singer? You guessed it, the woke left

I suspect Benny knows more about tight ends than he’s letting on.

Also these people are very upset about gay and interracial couples dominating commercials today, or so I’m told. You’d think they would be more excited about a straight white couple dominating headlines.

I thought that would be the perfect spot for Vrabel to go. A challenge for sure but with new ownership, Vrabel, who I consider to be a good coach, could’ve become a god in DC if he was able to turn them around

Quinn is such an uninspiring hire. He seems like a pretty good DC but as a head coach it’s questionable. He should get credit I guess for getting the Falcons to the Super Bowl but needless to say having the biggest blown game in the history of team sports is a direct failure of leadership aka him

Damn, that's too bad...he was one break-even quarter away from being a great coach...but instead, he should only be an assistant forever...that's too bad.

do you think it’s possible for a non-great coach to win a Super Bowl?

Of course...? That's the only logical way to think about this.

Otherwise, you're canonizing anyone that wins a single game regardless of context.

Like...what if there's a guy that inherits the league's best roster, with the league's most money, and was seen eating hot dogs on the sideline during games, and throwing absolute bangers leading up to that Super Bowl...and then wins one against Neil O'Donnell and Bam Morris...is he automatically great now, in this purely hypothetical situation...?

Your game theory, man... haha
