RIP
Lost my Dad this morning. He was born in Pittsburgh in 1941. He lived in Castle Shannon and went to school in Mount Lebanon. Served in the US Navy and worked hard all his life to support us and raise us right.
He fought seven different types of cancer including Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma, prostate cancer, skin cancer, esophageal cancer… and had been cancer free for 10 years this past July. Then he got a “cold” after Christmas. Whatever it was took him as he was sleeping last night/early this morning.
Mom, my brother and I and our families are all in shock.
As the oldest, I’m trying to hold it together and make plans and keep Mom from falling apart.
RIP to my old man. An old school Yinzer!

wow, so sorry to hear this. I've been there and it's really tough. keep a close eye on your mom in the coming months. many members of that generation have no idea how to live alone because they went from their parents' home to living with their spouse and raising a family.
