Although the bigger problem might be his coaching skills.

Franklin is an ace recruiter. Plainly one of the best in college ball.Franklin is still winning the recruiting battle last I checked. He may not be getting every highly rated PA guy, but he has gotten a very high percentage of them. His "dominate the state" statement was regarding recruiting and wasn't just directed at Pitt, but at all teams that recruit PA players.
You can call it whatever you want, but personally, I want to play ups and UWV every year, no qualifications. And the "complex" works both ways; see the entire "unrivaled" branding effort. "WE ARE...proud that our rival is Rutgers!" (That's no offense to mikey just a reference to ups' new "rival" per the B10).I agree to an extent that his demeanor can push people the wrong way, but a lot of this has to do with the complex Pitt has with anything PSU. It's no different than what WVU has with Pitt.
BOB didn't bother me at all, and Hackenberg's freshman is the only proof he needs that he can coach em up. Whatever is going on in Happy Valley with Hack I don't know, but BOB had him looking like a world beater at age 19.And as far as a "complex" being an issue, I think most Pitt fans recognized BOB as a standup guy and a good coach.
Obv you guys would know better here, but that all makes sense. I think I saw 2 or 3 times that year and being mad that he was good (reasonable behavior by me)Hackenberg had a much, much, much better offensive line that year and a starting NFL WR in Allen Robinson on his team. Most of his success came from throwing the ball in the general vicinity of Robinson and him coming down with a ridiculous catch. They got blown out by OSU even worse that season. This year he has an offensive line worse than last year and no WR even close to Robinson's talent. The saving grace has been Barkley but he is a true freshmen and wasn't played against Temple and was coming off an injury for the OSU game.
