I don't think I've ever seen a more insane, improbable ending to a major game in my lifetime

Beat the #1 defense by 17 points, drop a spot in the AP poll.
Beat a ranked team playing their backup QB by a touchdown, go up a few spots.
Guess which team is in the SEC?

I know Auburn is having an off year, but from my small sample size of 2015 so far, the SEC really isn't knocking my socks off.Beat the #1 defense by 17 points, drop a spot in the AP poll.

Here's what bugs me about the SEC. #16 team beats #7 team, the 16 team jumps to #8 because they're obviously great and the #7 team drops to #10 because they lost to a very good team.
ACC (or B1G, whatever floats your boat) #7 team loses to #16, they were obviously a fraud and drop to 18 while the 16 team jumps up to 14. It's annoying

when CBS is shelling out that much coin, you better believe that they want little numbers next to the teams playing every week

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Pat Narduzzi’s shot at Penn State offensive coordinator John Donovan’s play calling didn’t send Penn State head coach James Franklin over the top, at least not publicly.
“I don't want to read into anything,” Franklin said Tuesday afternoon at his weekly news conference. “There's been comments and things that I've said in the past that people have read into. So I'm not going to read into anything.
“Happy for them and the success that they've had, but my focus is on Penn State completely, 100 percent. … There's a lot of good football being played in this state with Temple and Pitt and Villanova and Penn and East Stroudsburg, a lot of good football being played, and I'm happy for all of them. But I'm not going to read into anything else.”

East Stroudsburg lost a game 67-69 in five overtimes against Shippensburg a few weeks ago. Must have been a crazy day in Monroe County.

lol, literally in the article I posted:Taking the high road... a very Penn State thing to do.
Also, query whether his lumping Pitt in with Temple (notwithstanding this year's success) and a bunch of I-AA schools (I know he went to East Stroudsburg, so I'll exclude them) was damning with faint praise.Franklin did vow to “dominate the state” from Day 1 and refers to Penn State as the in-state school, but the Panthers aren’t the only program Franklin has taken shots at in the past. During Franklin’s first Penn State coaches caravan two years ago, he spoke in Maryland about expanding the Nittany Lions’ recruiting footprint. He said at the time that Big Ten newcomers Rutgers and Maryland “don’t have a chance” at winning recruiting battles in Penn State’s footprint. He added that he considers New Jersey and Maryland both in-state territories for the Lions.
“Might as well shut them down because they don't have a chance,” Franklin said of those two school in May of 2014.

Do you think James from State College ever calls WVPO 840 AM (The radio home of the E. Stroudsburg Warriors) to chime in on recruiting?

Slappy, are we gonna do some sort of bet for next year's game? Nothing monetary or anything like that... more of the shame variety.

Pittsburgh Dad Jr.'s writing is astoundingly poor given his newspaper background, but his points have merit.
Some will see this as “taking the high road.”
*****
Here’s mine: Right now James Franklin looks like a guy who pushed and pushed and pushed someone and then, finally at the right moment, that someone decided he was going to counter a push with a punch.
And instead of punching back, James Franklin doesn’t want to fight anymore.
I don’t know about you, but where I’m from (Sharpsburg) that’s called “gettin’ punked.”
From someone who has absolutely no dog in this fight and couldn’t really care all that much who wins the Pitt-Penn State game(s), it looks from this view that Franklin got punked by Narduzzi.
It also looks from this view that Franklin had it coming to him — as he should never have brought only pushes to a fight against someone who knows how to punch.
When Franklin came roaring into the Penn State job in January of 2014 as the young hot-shot coach from Vanderbilt, he did so with a braggadocios swagger and a yap that liked to yap.
On his very first day on the job, Franklin made the bold proclamation that it was his intention to “dominate the state.”

Franklin is still winning the recruiting battle last I checked. He may not be getting every highly rated PA guy, but he has gotten a very high percentage of them. His "dominate the state" statement was regarding recruiting and wasn't just directed at Pitt, but at all teams that recruit PA players.

I think his point was that Franklin acts like a d-bag and deserves any **** he gets back.
