I don't know what the hive mind thought, but I quite enjoyed "Interstellar."
I loved it. Only problem I had with the movie is Michael Caine is damn near impossible to understand at times.

Saw the ending for Fast & Furious 7 posted on YouTube. Tough to watch, but was pretty much perfect.

I watched the imitation game last night. I thought it was pretty good.
I watched it last night as well. It was a nice movie, but it was kind of simplistic and modular. I'm either getting old and jaded (or more aware) or it really was just that transparent.

Maybe I couldn't allow myself to fully get into it because of how badly Turing was played. He was actually quite charming in real life, but Hollywood thinks if you can do math you have to be on the spectrum so Cumberbatch bumbled through that awful schtick.

Best part was the cop was played by Rory Kinnear which was pretty great. Kept picturing him shagging the pig from Black Mirror.

Who saw force majeure? The synopsis on the netflix sleeve makes it sound pretty depressing, but then I heard it's actually funny. Can anyone clear this up?
I'd categorize it as a drama, though yeah, I've seen some refer to it as kind of a black comedy of sorts, which I can see -- there are certainly some laughs to be had, not from any jokes or anything, but more from human/situational comedy. A scene that might make one person laugh could be interpreted as more dramatic by another, and vice versa, but on the whole it's more of a dramatic piece -- I wouldn't put it on the same level as, say, something like Calvary, in terms of heaviness, but it's not a floaty light piece either. Either way, I thought it was one of last year's best, and definitely recommend it -- watch it with someone as well, as it's one you'll want to discuss after it's over.

I have yet to see any of the FastFurious flics. Fshould Fi?
If you like fast cars, hot women, crazy unrealistic stunts, don't mind vin diesel and can turn your brain off when the movie starts they are a pretty good time.

They first 4 kind of decline in quality as they go, well 3 is probably the worst(Tokyo drift I think). Then Five is balls to the wall amazing, 6 is good, but a step below 5, and i haven't seen 7 yet but am going with the wife next weekend.
I started with Fast Five. Hadn't seen any of the previous movies in the franchise (and still haven't), but I liked Five a lot. Apparently that was the first movie where the franchise basically reinvented itself as straight-up action movies. I'd agree with skullman, F6 wasn't as good as Five, but still worth checking out. I thought F7 was a real good time at the movies though -- enjoyed that one a lot (caught it in IMAX -- recommended). Anyone not really familiar with the movies can probably jump into Fast Five and take it from there -- you'd probably be better off for it. I think I will check out the original at some point though.
I fell asleep watching Tokyo Drift last night. What a turd of a movie, how horrible was the lead actor in that one.
Yeah, I should clarify and say I DID actually see about 10 minutes or so of TD at one point when it was on TV (before Five even came out), and couldn't even continue watching because the lead was so so bad. Apparently he's signed on for the next 2 movies, so, buckle up.

I'm kind of bummed. I thought I saw F6, but it was F5. So I turned on the end of F6 last night and it spoiled the movie for me. Not that there is much going on, but I picked the worse 3 minutes to catch.

I have seen all of the fast movies except the one that just came out. I cant tell that there was enough of a plot for there to be a spoiler.

It could have been good, it could have been an action flick, instead it was a turd sandwich. Edge of Tomorrow is what I would recommend in it's stead.

Ryan Gosling to star in the Guillermo del Toro directed reboot of Disney's The Haunted Mansion.

What kind of world do we live in where I can type that sentence and its not complete and utter BS?

I finally figured out why I was missing so many references in F7. It's because I was in Iraq in 2009 and completely missed Fast and Furious and so the entire Dominican Republic story line was gone for me.

I watched them in this order: 1, 2, 5, 3, 7, 6 and missed 4.

I had just got my license when the first one came out, so I was pretty much in love with it as a 16 year old.

I still occasionally yell "LETS GO! MENAAAAAAAGEEEEE!" when I'm passing someone on the highway.

I saw the first one in a theater and will never forget how funny that was the first time.

I liked District 9 well enough, but was never interested in Elysium, or that director's new film, Chappie. It's become pretty clear that he's kind of one note, and that note is, "THIS IS IMPORTANT SOCIAL/POLITICAL COMMENTARY TOLD THROUGH OVERLY ON THE NOSE SCI-FI METAPHORS."
