To be fair, 98% of this team has been a disappointment.

Fairly competitive against the defending champs, but the Hawks are just a better team.

Lovejoy is steady almost always.

But you could create quite a highlight reel of him making impossibly stupid plays.

I had to paint the bathroom last night, including the detail work around the toilet. Sounds like if I had instead watched the Pens game, I'd still have stared at a toilet.

It was worth it just to see Fleury shine, honestly. He had an outstanding night overall.

I did see the vine of that spectacular save he made. At least someone showed up.

These last two games the Pens looked good. They played well, they're just not on the level of the Hawks yet. We get a healthy Bennett back, maybe get an upgrade on defense... who knows.

Their play since Sully took the reigns has at least made them fun to watch again.

'Night, guys.
:thumb: Appreciate the positivity as always.
Thanks, Avy, but I could've been more positive last night. I'll do better next game, just as the Pens will, too. The Habs are ripe for the picking.

Looking back, I saw some good things the past two games--namely, Sid being Sid, Cole playing better, Tanger channeling his fire better, and FLOWER. Some amazing goatlending (that's an old joke from HF before the site got totally unbearable). I know last night isn't an indication, but the effort is there more than not.

The Pens used to be that team who could make their own luck and just win whether they "deserved" to or not. I know there are few guys left from 2009. But they also happen to be some key leaders, and I hope that being on the other side last night stirred up some old memories and the will to find a way.

Still only 1 point out with 2 teams to leap over in the conference. Caps aside (FLA has to cool off sooner than later), the conference is relatively wide-open. The steam ship has been turned around and moving forward, imo, but we're not yet full speed ahead.
