We're making some progress and he's cracked the top 70.

He'll go on a multi game streak of five catches for 50 yards or more.

Sidney will play all 82 games, put up 14 goals and 29 assists, but win MVP after leading the league in Fenwick, Corsi, pro-rated plus minus divided by special teams goals against multiplied by the number of nachos sold at the concession stand when he is on the ice during road games, offensive zone start %, defensive zone shot blocks following a defensive zone faceoff win, and PDO.

10 points in his last 9 games, and only held pointless in one (Sharks).

Its amazing that 3 different times he's had the scoring race wrapped up before friggen March and injury derailed it. The high ankle sprain (occured in January, I believe?) The concussion, and the jaw. It really still saddens me about that 2010-11 run. Who knows if we'd have won the Cup again, but we really got ripped off of something special. He was racking up 3-4 points every night and was scoring goals every which way imaginable. I particularly remember all his deflection goals. These weren't just get your blade in a position and hope it hits, he was seeing these shots like in slow motion. Deflecting off the blade, the shaft of his stick and getting it to go exactly where he wanted...looking over his shoulder and still knocking slapshots down out of mid air. Seems like forever since we've seen these goals from him.

Tied for 42nd now... 8 points out of 10th (Geno). If the team can keep up the offensive output of the last two games for a stretch, he may narrow that gap in no time. Close a 27 point gap to the lead, that's a much taller task.

He may not catch up all the way to #1, but if he keeps up at a pace close to this, it's safe to say that the reports of his demise were greatly exaggerated.

If there was a player in today's league though that could possibly pull that off... it's Crosby. He's no Lemieux, but Kane et al are no Lafontaine either.

Yeah and it's not 1993 anymore...although I'd give anything to go back and watch that team play at the Civic Arena again...I didn't appreciate it enough at 15. If Stevens doesn't get hurt, and that team beats the Isles, who knows how many Cups they'd have won and how many career goals Artie would have ended up with..

I think many of us have played out the "what could have been"s from that season. Or 1996 and that Florida series.

Oh, hell. That was the first time I ever had any prolonged frustration watching the Pens. They just couldn't score.

I just remember Nedved going top shelf on JV and I spent the rest of the series screaming at the TV telling them to shoot high, as if that was the secret. I was 14. heh.

I'm legitimately surprised Malkin is 10th. I thought he'd be 20-30
