Pens seek tech help to improve team and/or keep fans from becoming bored

The Pens and the Pittsburgh Technology Council teamed up in June to issue a call to Pittsburgh’s techies to submit ideas for software, hardware, data analysis techniques or other products that can give them a technological edge over National Hockey League competitors.

Who here has a golden ticket idea?

My first thought, and this seems slightly less necessary now, is an anti-wooing filter like how people tried to cook up anti-vevuzala filters for the 2010 World Cup.

every fan gets a clicker and they get to vote at certain times of the game on who plays what position and with who.

That way we can end up with Horny in goal, Fleury in a defensive pairing with Geno and a first line of Sid-Scuderi-Sutter

An app to satisfy all the people that aren't there for hockey. Give them too much music (as mentioned), too many distractions, and too much Ryan Mill and let the rest of us concentrate on the game. I'd pay at least $11.50 for this to be implemented.

I wonder if they could create noise canceling headphones that only cancel conversations about corsi or fenwick. That would be nice. Of course we all know why that won't be an issue for me anymore. pop

It obviously wouldn't work at the arena, but an app that would sync a GameCenter feed with the radio feed would be the same as printing money. The radio feed is already on the website so it shouldn't be that hard.
