It's not over. I said all along 1-1-1 vs Tampa Toronto Boston and thats what they did. Win the last 2 and hope.

Welp, there's still a chance but once again, this team had their playoff lives in their hands and like last year, they pissed down their leg.
I'm not sure losing to a top 5 team after a 7-0-3 run is pissing down their leg...

Bummer. Playoffs just got a bit harder. Still a chance and I’m glad that they’ve made the end of this season meaningful rather than just hoping for a better draft position.

Yeah the meltdown on here is kind of unexpected. This was always going to be a tough game and it’s just unfortunate that we didn’t get any help in the other games.

The way they lost to that top-5 team certainly feels like it.

2-0 for us. 1-0-1 for caps and wings. Can happen

Who's really melting down? The Pens have been plagued by bad special teams, and bad defense. Both reared their head tonight - but it's not like tonight was the first game it happened during their run.

Washington stinks. Detroit plays home and home with Montreal - never easy to sweep 4 points. Pens have 2 teams who will have clinched their positioning. Stay with it

Meltdown maybe too strong of word. Reaction is still surprising though.

I'm just glad they are even in this position, especially for where they were in the standings a month ago

No doubt. These games the last week have felt like playoff games and the intensity of those as a fan is pretty fun.

This was always gonna be a tough game, and the next one is, too.

The better team won. The Pens still have lots of issues and are lucky to even be in the position they are right now given their play throughout the season. Others have already pointed out how annoying it is considering where they could be if they didn't stop playing for 2 whole weeks.

Wish we didn't have that little pouty stretch around the deadline but whatever.

There's a longgggggg line of wishes for this season. Most of them involve not coughing up so many late leads.

Two games out of the last 11 that stick out to me, are the 2 lost points vs the Avalanche and the Jackets.

Just once it would be nice to not give up a SHG or even a threat of giving one up, shrug.

They still have a shot. Going into tonight, they had very little margin for error, and they spent that. Now, there is no margin. Gotta go 2 for 2.

it’s a culmination of season long frustration (actually year long considering the collapse last year)

it took a great stretch for us to get back into it but getting pushed back out of the playoffs sucked out all the hope and the delta in excitement is drastic

at the very least there’s something to build off of for next season but missing the playoffs two years in a row, if that ends up happening, is very frustrating, especially since Sid is still really good

It started with choking away a lead to a minor league level Chicago team in game one.

It would be nice to have those two points right now.
