I’m not sure how they don’t clean house this summer, including Sullivan, when they’ve had how many of games like this

MR25, I picked on you simply because it's more entertaining than the game itself. ;)

These losses are hard to watch. But, this is the inevitable flip side of being great for so long. There are some things that still should not happen, even if your team isn't very good. Blowing big leads and collapsing emotionally on a frequent basis is not one of them. If this team were a bit scrappier, it would be easier to overlook the holes on the roster.

I haven’t been emotionally attached since a few games before Calgary. Have been recording the recent games and skipping through them pretty quickly. Missed the past few while on vacation. Haven’t been posting much since no reason to feel positive or negative.

It would be fun to watch the rest of the season play out if we had a bunch of younger guys in the lineup that we could scout for next year. Unfortunately that’s not the case so I’m watching the games right now looking at which guys we can boot off the team in the offseason.

The end of the era is coming, we are paying the price for 15-20 years of success but I didn’t thing it was going to happen now. I thought we had 2-3 years left of the good times.

Yes. We couldn't have really asked for more this year from Jarry and Ned. There were a lot of games in which they deserved better.

And even they're starting to wear down at this point...which I don't blame them for, they did all they could. There's basically nothing after Calgary that I can take too, too much to heart...

I tried really hard to find a stat for number of games each goalie has been pulled this season. I came up empty but it does feel that we’ve had a goalie change in a fair amount of games.

Jarry has been replaced 7 times this year.

Binnington, who has played about the same amount of games, has been replaced 5 times...for comparison.

and I don’t know how many of those are because of his play. I don’t really recall saying “yeah Jars isn’t seeing it tonight.”

Sully doesn’t have many levers to pull. yanking the goalie is one of the few

Is that it? Did they all happen within the last 2 weeks? It feels much more common than that.

Oh yeah for sure. It has been much more of a team/defense failure than a goalie failure.

So Ned was pulled because a spotter pulled him, Sullivan puts Jarry in to lose the tie, does Ned getting put back in, earn him the loss?

Yeah, Ned takes an OTL. He gave up the losing goal.

Re: Jarry getting pulled. There were a couple that I thought were because of scheduling. Though, the most recent of those (Friday vs. Dallas, a completely unnecessary pull) turned out not to be the case...

Just got home.

Embarrassing to be up 4-0 only to blow it. Lots of Pens fans there, but luckily most weren't too surprised by the collapse... we did have really good seats for that beautiful Sid tip, though.

On a side note, I do hope the league looks at the 3v3 OT moving forward (and not just because the Pens suck at it). It's becoming increasingly boring.
