I'm really concerned about Graves and that contract moving forward.

I'm also concerned with Malkin moving forward...

Take into account the loser point and they are 30-37. That’s bad.

The Islanders who are above them are actually worse(29-38), but they’ve been smart enough to at least get to OT 15 times to get loser points ….pens can’t even do that. They blow leads in regulation.

Graves has to be one of the worst FA signings in a long time.

They have to pray that Graves rebounds or some team won’t take much to eat the contract.

Geno hasn’t played well but keeping him on the second PP for half of the season seems to have destroyed any spirit he has. It’s a failure of coaching not to get that powerplay at least semi resembling anything good

Graves can't rebound...this is basically how he's been for most of his career. Like, if it's an NHL rating...he's a 57 right now, at his best, he's like a 65...he's always been bad.

Graves also has a 12 team no trade list...

The deal becomes a tiny bit buyout-able after next season...

Islanders and wings both losing sadly. But this was a must win. I'm comfortable calling it
We're back!

Good god, how do you justify signing that.

My theory is that after firing Hextall, the Pens didn't change any of their passwords and Ron Hextall logged in from home and submitted it on the team's behalf...we didn't want a whole union thing - you know how that can go - so we just went, "how bad could he be? He once led the league in plus/minus."

And here we are...coming up with ways to scald him in-game...

It's a story as old as time...

There is literally no point in hoping to lose...I understand our pick is top 10 protected. But if that's the case, then it's our 2025 pick that goes. And we can't guarantee that will be better for us. Basically, without total control of your first round picks, you can't even root for that video game-y nonsense of losing games...it just doesn't make sense. Unfortunately, you have to root for wins...

The chances of this team winning more than losing the rest do the way is almost nil. Geno looks defeated and also old. Karlsson looks like he doesn’t care. Letang is checked out. All these guys want the season to end it seems. It’s very Mike Johnston esque at this point to me: it seems like the really want changes to the coaching staff

Karlsson probably looks like he doesn't care because he's tired of trying to drag around Graves's worthless ass

It still all comes back to the PP for me. Not being able to figure out a way to get your top players out there together in a well functioning group was the death knell for the team, both standing wise and emotionally

I’m rooting for not having to watch another ugly-ass Pens game this season
